Steelers placed OT Mike Adams on the reserve/PUP list.

A total flop as the 56th overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft, Adams showed up to Steelers camp with a back injury and never got into a practice. Pittsburgh has a lot of talent in the skill positions, but has struggled drafting during the tenure of GM Kevin Colbert. Adams has been a huge miss.

Seahawks placed CB Jeremy Lane (arm, knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

Lane tore his ACL and broke his arm making one of the best plays of the Super Bowl. It's more likely than not that Seattle's would-be slot corner spends the entire year on reserve/PUP.

Steelers placed K Garrett Hartley on injured reserve, ending his season.

Hartley suffered a severe hamstring injury in Pittsburgh's third preseason game. The Steelers have replaced him by trading for Josh Scobee.

Seahawks placed WR/KR Paul Richardson (ACL) on the reserve/PUP list.

Coach Pete Carroll initially claimed Richardson might participate in camp after undergoing ACL surgery in late January, but Week 7 is his earliest possible return date. There's a good chance Richardson ends up spending the entire year on reserve/PUP. Although he was a second-round pick just 15 months ago, Richardson has basically zero Dynasty value.

Steelers placed CB Senquez Golson (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The 56th overall pick in May's draft, Golson would've been in the hunt for a significant role in Pittsburgh's defense had he not been diagnosed with a severe shoulder injury toward the start of training camp. Golson will now take a "redshirt" as a rookie and try to get healthy for 2016.

Seahawks waived DB Keelan Johnson, OT Jesse Davis, CB George Farmer, WR Deshon Foxx, WR Deontay Greenberry, LB Quayshawn Nealy, DE Greg Scruggs and S Ty Zimmerman.

Johnson appeared in two games for the 2013 Eagles. Turning 26 next month, Johnson isn't much of a practice-squad candidate.
Aug 31 - 4:09 PM

Seahawaks released G/C Lemuel Jeanpierre and DT D'Anthony Smith.

Jeanpierre was a candidate for the Seahawks' starting center job, but quickly faded. Drew Nowak will be the team's Week 1 starter. Smith has made only two appearances since the end of the 2012 season.

Jets DE Leonard Williams (strained muscle behind knee) fully expects to be ready for Week 1.

"Yeah, I'll definitely be ready for Week 1," Williams promised. The plan is to rest Williams' strained knee muscle for the next "5-7 days," but he should get in a practice or two before the opener, and play against the Browns. Williams' early-season availability took on increased importance after Sheldon Richardson's four-game suspension. Williams will start versus Cleveland.
