Making his first career start, C.J. Beathard completed 22-of-38 passes for 235 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the 49ers' 40-10, Week 7 loss to the Cowboys, adding five carries for 30 yards and a score.

Although Beathard threw zero picks, he lost a pair of fumbles. DeMarcus Lawrence ran right by LT Joe Staley to force fumble No. 1, though Beathard never felt the rush on fumble No. 2. Beathard took an absurd beating, getting walloped for five sacks. He made some nice plays, but one of his longest conversions was an accidental completion to Marquise Goodwin. Two receivers were in the area. Beathard was lucky to escape without a pick. Ultimately, there were enough positives that there will be no questions about coach Kyle Shanahan sticking with Beathard going forward. The Eagles are a foreboding road matchup for Week 8.

Rex Burkhead (ribs) is active for Week 7 against the Falcons.

Burkhead was removed from the injury report after missing the last four weeks. He'll be part of a four-man backfield with Mike Gillislee, Dion Lewis, and James White. The Patriots inactives are CB Stephon Gilmore, LB Elandon Roberts, OL Cameron Fleming, OL Cole Croston, DE Geneo Grissom, CB Eric Rowe, and LB Harvey Langi.

Falcons declared OT Austin Pasztor, OL Sean Harlow, WR Marvin Hall, WR Nick Williams, S Sharrod Neasman, LB Jordan Tripp, and DL Ahtyba Rubin inactive for Week 7 against the Patriots.

The Falcons are fully healthy going into Sunday night's game.

Ezekiel Elliott rushed 26 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys' Week 7 win over the 49ers, adding a 72-yard touchdown reception.

Elliott was reaving souls from the opening whistle, simply running over 49ers defenders. The highlight was his lone reception, a 72-yard screen he housed for a score with absurd footwork down the sideline. The 147 yards rushing were the third most of Elliott's career. The 219 yards from scrimmage were his most. All this in a game where Elliott was supposed to be suspended. For now, Elliott appears likely to be on the field in Week 8, but it's not yet for certain. Owners will need to take things day by day this week, as they have all season.

49ers MLB Reuben Foster was forced from Sunday's game against the Cowboys with a rib injury.

Foster just returned from a five-game absence. He was shaken up multiple times against the Cowboys before departing for good. He should be considered highly questionable for Week 8 against the Eagles.

49ers RT Trent Brown is week to week with a concussion.

Brown suffered the injury in the second half of Sunday's beatdown loss to the Cowboys. Were Brown to miss next week's game against the Eagles, it would make rookie C.J. Beathard's life even more difficult.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins believe Jay Cutler suffered two cracked ribs against the Jets, and will be sidelined 2-3 weeks.

Cutler was actually enjoying one of his best games of the season before getting hurt. Matt Moore came on and guided the comeback win. If Moore plays well in Cutler's absence -- AKA doesn't turn the ball over at a high rate like Cutler -- Moore could end up keeping the job. Cutler has not been good.

Dak Prescott completed 16-of-25 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys' Week 7 win over the 49ers, adding four carries for 26 yards and an additional score.

Prescott's numbers could have been even bigger, but he spent the final seven minutes of the game wearing a ballcap on the sideline. The 49ers also routinely set the Cowboys up with excellent field position. Prescott kept putting his playmakers in position to make plays, and that they did. Jason Witten made an absurd one-handed grab for a score, Ezekiel Elliott turned a screen into a 72-yard touchdown and Dez Bryant displayed the fanciest of footwork on an end zone grab. Prescott's rushing score was a designed keeper. Balling out week after week, Prescott will be a high-end QB1 for Week 8 against the Redskins.
