Colts RB Josh Robinson rushed five times for four yards before departing Saturday's preseason game with a concussion.
To make matters worse, Robinson's head injury came on a play where he committed a soft, soft fumble. Andrew Luck put the ball right in his belly, but Robinson flat dropped it. Despite the miscue, Robinson remains the favorite for No. 3 duties behind Frank Gore and Dan Herron. He'll finis the preseason with 28 carries for 109 yards and a touchdown. Robinson is better than Zurlon Tipton.
Torrey Smith caught one pass for five yards in the 49ers' third preseason game.
Kaepernick only attempted five passes on the game, so there were not many opportunities for Smith to make noise. The reception was actually Smith's first of the preseason. Smith will be a boom-or-bust WR4 this season.
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Randall Cobb's shoulder injury is believed to be minor.
Per Rapsheet, Cobb is believed to have escaped with a minor sprain. It's the best possible news for the Packers, who couldn't afford even a short absence from their new No. 1 receiver. As it is, Cobb now has 14 days to get ready for Week 1, and should be ready to roll as a WR1 against the Bears. Cobb's status will be updated some time in the next 24-48 hours.
Anquan Boldin did not catch his lone target in the 49ers' third preseason game.
The entire 49ers' offense was stuck in neutral in the first half, so Boldin did not get many chances to run routes much less catch passes. Perennially undervalued in fantasy circles, Boldin is a solid WR3 in PPR formats. Boldin has one catch for 14 yards this preseason.
Zurlon Tipton rushed three times for 15 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Rams.
All three of Tipton's carries came the series after Andrew Luck checked out of the game. He was playing behind Josh Robinson, though Robinson left the game with a concussion. Tipton is battling Vick Ballard for the Colts' final running back spot. Ballard's ongoing issues should give Tipton the edge.
Kendall Hunter rushed seven times for 15 yards in the 49ers' third preseason game.
It was Hunter's first game action since the 2013 NFC Championship game. Hunter played behind both Carlos Hyde and Reggie Bush. He will play a complementary role this season and is not relevant in fantasy leagues.
Jared Cook caught a five-yard pass in Saturday's preseason game.
It was his lone target. The scattershot TE2 finishes the preseason with two grabs for eight yards.
Marshawn Lynch rushed twice for six yards in Saturday’s preseason game against the Chargers.
He also snagged one catch for three yards. Lynch played sparingly in his first and only preseason appearance. We don’t need to see Beast Mode tear it up in August to know he’s going to have a great regular season. The 29-year-old is locked in as an every week RB1.
