Jordan Walden (biceps) will not come off the disabled list early next week as hoped.

Walden hasn't had a setback, but rather the Cardinals think he just needs to build up more arm strength. Their acquisition of Jonathan Broxton on Friday no doubt was related to Walden's stalled return.

Tigers acquired RHPs Luis Cessa and Michael Fulmer from the Mets in exchange for OF Yoenis Cespedes.

Cessa, 23, holds a 3.98 ERA with 85 strikeouts over 101 2/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season. The righty was top ranked among the Mets' top 30 prospect before the season by Baseball America.

Tigers acquired RHPs Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa from the Mets in exchange for OF Yoenis Cespedes.

Fulmer is the prize here, as he's bounced back from a disappointing 2014 with a strong 2015, posting a 2.03 ERA while striking out a batter per inning between High- and Double-A. He has a shot to be a nice mid-rotation starter for the Tigers.

Mets acquired OF Yoenis Cespedes from the Tigers in exchange for RHPs Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa.

The Mets whiffed on Carlos Gomez and Jay Bruce but found the bat they were looking for in Cespedes. He'll patrol left field in New York and should provide a much-needed jolt to the Mets' lineup.
Jul 31 - 5:35 PM

Angels recalled RHP Drew Rucinski from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Rucinski has allowed four runs over 4 2/3 relief frames with the big club this season. He'll work in middle relief.
Jul 31 - 5:32 PM

Angels placed LHP C.J. Wilson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 29, with left elbow inflammation.

Wilson had fluid drained from the elbow earlier this season and he's now having trouble with it again. It doesn't appear he has any structural issues, so the lefty should be back at some point in August. Jered Weaver (hip) will take his rotation spot.
Jul 31 - 5:30 PM

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Friday that Luis Severino's next start will come in the majors.

The Yankees weren't able to land a starter at the trade deadline, but part of the reason they felt comfortable passing on deals is surely that they felt good about giving Severino a shot. It's unclear what day the top prospect will debut, but he'll take Michael Pineda's (forearm) spot in the rotation. Severino is worth a shot in all fantasy leagues.
Jul 31 - 5:28 PM

Marlins acquired LHP Cody Ege and C Tomas Telis from the Rangers in exchange for RHP Sam Dyson.

Ege boasts a 2.29 ERA with 177 strikeouts across 137 2/3 career minor league innings. He could get a shot with the Marlins during the second half.
