Torii Hunter went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run, helping the Twins eke out a win over the Athletics on Monday.

Hunter capped off the Twins' second four-run inning with a three-run blast in the sixth off of R.J. Alvarez. Though Hunter has only three home runs, 13 RBI, and a .253/.289/.407 batting line, he has hit better as of late, entering Monday's action with three consecutive multi-hit games. The 39-year-old has managed to stay productive in the twilight of his career, but he'll have to keep it up over five more months for the Twins.

Stephen Vogt finished 3-for-5 with a grand slam and an RBI double in Monday's loss versus the Twins.

Vogt sent the A's up 4-0 early with a first-inning grand slam off of Phil Hughes. He added an RBI double in the ninth in an attempt to help his team stage a comeback, but it fell short. Vogt homered twice and knocked in four runs on Sunday, continuing what has been a highly productive season. He's batting .372/.462/.718 with seven home runs and 25 RBI on the season.

Chad Qualls gave up a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, resulting in a loss as the Astros fell 2-1 to the Rangers on Monday.

Qualls allowed a leadoff double to Adrian Beltre, then followed that up by allowing a single to Kyle Blanks to push Beltre to third base. Qualls struck out Rougned Odor, revealing light at the end of the tunnel, but Robinson Chirinos hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring in the go-ahead run. Qualls, typically setting up for closer Luke Gregerson, has mostly been solid, sporting a 3.48 ERA with a 14/2 K/BB ratio in 10 1/3 innings.

X-rays on Leonys Martin's left wrist came back negative.

Martin injured the wrist while trying to make a catch on Monday, but he's managed to come away with just a bruise. Consider the outfielder day-to-day.
May 4 - 11:17 PM

Monday's game between the Diamondbacks and Rockies has been postponed due to rain.

No makeup date has been announced. Scheduled starters Josh Collmenter and Tyler Matzek will be pushed back a day.
May 4 - 11:16 PM

Jose Altuve walked, doubled, stole a base, and scored a run, but the Astros were defeated by the Rangers on Monday.

In the first inning, Altuve walked, advanced to second base on a wild pitch, stole third, and scored on an Evan Gattis sacrifice fly. He doubled and was stranded in the third inning. Altuve is 10-for-12 in stolen base attempts on the season while batting .360/.410/.514 with 16 runs scored and 19 RBI. He's showing his 2014 breakout was no fluke.
May 4 - 11:12 PM

Dallas Keuchel got a tough-luck no-decision after yielding only one run in eight innings in Monday's loss to the Rangers.

Keuchel did his best to extend the Astros' winning streak to 11 games, but he faltered late to take himself out of the running for a win. The lefty gave up only five hits and two walks while striking out eight, giving up his only run in the eighth inning on an RBI single to Jake Smolinski. Keuchel has a fantastic 0.80 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and a 30/13 K/BB ratio in 45 innings. He'll look to improve to 4-0 in his next start on the road against the Angels.
May 4 - 11:10 PM

Ross Detwiler was terrific in a no-decision on Monday against the Astros, giving up just one run in seven innings of work.

Detwiler matched opposing starter Dallas Keuchel pitch-for-pitch through seven innings. He limited the Astros to just four hits and a pair of walks while striking out seven. It's easily his best outing of the season, as he had otherwise been a disaster in the starting rotation. He has a 6.57 ERA, 1.82 WHIP, and a 17/11 K/BB ratio in 24 2/3 innings. Detwiler will take on the Rays on the road next.
