According to Mike Bernardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Twins will call up Trevor Hildenberger from Triple-A Rochester on Friday.

Minnesota's bullpen is running on fumes after pitching 8 1/3 innings on Thursday and the Twins could obviously use a fresh arm or two. Hildenberger has impressed in the minors this year, producing a stellar 2.05 ERA over 21 relief appearances in Rochester. Friday will mark his first big league call-up.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports the Royals have reached a deal with RHP Neftali Feliz.

Feliz was terrible with the Brewers earlier this year but perhaps he'll benefit from a change of scenery. The right-hander has a proven track record with 107 big league saves. In Kansas City, he'll fill a setup role in front of closer Kelvin Herrera.

Mike Clevinger allowed two runs on six hits over five innings in a win over the Orioles on Thursday.

Clevinger wasn't overly sharp, also walking four while striking out four, but he did well to limit the damage. The win was his first in over a month, pulling his record even at 3-3. He's got a 3.86 ERA and 1.26 WHIP in nine appearances, including eight starts, on the year, and he's been good enough to deserve a spot in the Tribe's rotation, at least for the time being. Clevinger will next take on the Rangers on Tuesday.

Orioles optioned RHP Gabriel Ynoa to Triple-A Norfolk.

According to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, the Nationals have shown interest in Pat Neshek.

Neshek, who is headed for free agency in 2018, acknowledged that it's likely he'll be traded before the July 31 deadline. Nobody is more desperate for a closer than the Nationals and Neshek would seem to be a perfect fit. It's rare for teams to trade within the division but perhaps the two sides would make an exception. The Nats have also expressed interest in White Sox closer David Robertson and Padres lefty Brad Hand.

Addison Russell went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored as the Cubs pounded the Marlins 11-1 on Thursday.

The Cubs' cleanup hitter on this day certainly did his fair share of cleaning up, homering in the seventh inning and knocking two more doubles over the course of the game. It's been a difficult year for the 23-year-old, but he's now hitting .297 (14-for-47) with four homers this month. Overall, Russell still has some work to do on his .234/.304/.413 line.

Chase Headley was unavailable for Thursday's game against the Angels due to back spasms.

Manager Joe Girardi isn't sure if he'll be able to play Friday against Texas. Ronald Torreyes handled the hot corner in Headley's absence on Thursday night. It's been a rough couple of weeks for the Yankees, who have lost eight of nine while falling into a first-place tie with the Red Sox in the AL East. Losing Headley wouldn't help matters.

Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Cubs.

Ozuna launched his 20th homer of the year in the second inning, the only damage the Marlins could muster against Cubs starter Jake Arrieta. He ranks behind only Cody Bellinger in the National League in homers, and he's also among the league leaders in RBI (53) and rate stats. In a forgettable year for the Marlins, the 26-year-old is hitting a less-forgettable .326/.391/.593.
