Ross Detwiler (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday and reported feeling fine.

Detwiler was pulled from a start last week with lower back spasms and skipped a turn in the Nationals' rotation. That bit of rest did the trick, and he will start Tuesday against the Orioles.
May 25 - 4:11 PM

Edinson Volquez will make his next start Tuesday against the Mariners.

Volquez isn't injured, but will be pushed back a day. The Padres are likely to activate Clatyon Richard from the disabled list to start on Monday.
May 25 - 3:41 PM

Jose Reyes (ankle) was cleared to begin running for the first time on Friday.

Reyes had been shut down since being placed on the DL, so it's a major step in his recovery. Assuming his rehab process continues to go as expected, Reyes could resume full baseball activities next week. The Blue Jays are hoping he can return sometime around midseason.

Chase d'Arnaud (thumb) will move his rehab assignment Saturday to Triple-A Indianapolis.

D'Arnaud has been out all season after undergoing surgery in March to repair a partially torn ligament in his thumb. The Pirates are expected to send him to the minors when he's healthy enough to return.
May 25 - 3:03 PM

Yankees designated LHP Francisco Rondon for assignment.

Rondon, 25, had a 7.46 ERA in 12 appearances (six starts) with the Yankees' Double-A affiliate. The move clears a spot for David Huff on the 40-man roster.
May 25 - 2:53 PM

Yankees claimed LHP David Huff off waivers from the Indians.

Huff was designated for assignment by the Indians last week after he posted a 4.07 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 28/9 K/BB ratio in 24 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level. The Yankees waived left-hander Francisco Rondon in a corresponding move.
May 25 - 2:45 PM

White Sox sent INF Angel Sanchez outright to Triple-A Charlotte.

A Rule 5 pick, Sanchez cleared waivers and was rejected when offered back to the Angels. Sanchez no longer is required to be on the 25-man roster and will continue to provide depth in the minors.
May 25 - 2:38 PM

The Red Sox have yet determine if Franklin Morales (back, pectoral) will be activated this weekend or receive one more rehab start in the minors.

Morales, on the disabled list since the beginning of the season, declared himself fully healthy after throwing five innings Thursday in his latest rehab game with Double-A Portland. The Red Sox are expected to use him as a reliever upon his return.
