Trevor Story went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 victory against the Mets.

Story continues to roll right along, pushing into the major league lead with 56 RBI. He continues to be super consistent, smacking six homers with 19 RBI in April, five clouts with 20 RBI in May and five long balls with 17 RBI so far in June. The shortstop is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, he is hitting .370 (25-for-70) for his most successful month at the plate to date.

Nolan Arenado finished 3-for-5 with a double, a two-run home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 victory against the Mets.

Arenado is starting to heat up again, posting three multi-hit games across his past five appearances. He is 7-for-21 (.333) with four doubles, two homers and eight RBI with six runs scored during the impressive span. Arenado opened the month with just two extra-base hits and three RBI in his first 12 games, but he is making up for lost time lately.

Ian Desmond went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 victory against the Mets.

Desmond entered the month of June with a dismal .196 batting average, but he is working on that area. He is 16-for-58 (.276) with six home runs and 14 RBI in 17 games in June to raise his average to .214. Desmond still has a ways to go before fantasy owners are 100 percent totally confident with his average, but his power production makes the low average sting a little less.

German Marquez allowed four earned runs, six hits and two walks with four strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Mets.

Marquez threw 62 of his 95 pitches for strikes in the so-so outing, throwing first-pitch strikes to 13 of the 24 batters he faced while also uncorking a wild pitch. He has been a disaster at home, going 1-4 with a 7.45 ERA across eight outings at Coors Field while posting a 3-3 record and respectable 3.07 ERA in seven starts on the road. Opponents are hitting just .214 against him away from home, too. Unfortunately for his fantasy owners he'll be back home on Sunday against Miami.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday night that Sam Dyson will serve as the team's primary closer for now.

Hunter Strickland broke his right (pitching) hand when he punched a door out of frustration following a blown save Monday against the Marlins and is expected to miss the next 6-8 weeks. Dyson earned the first save in Strickland's absence on Tuesday versus Miami, inducing a game-ending double play from Brian Anderson after Will Smith issued a walk to Yadiel Rivera and struck out Derek Dietrich to begin the top of the ninth inning. Dyson holds an impressive 2.45 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 33 innings this season. Mark Melancon and Tony Watson also make for good stashes in mixed fantasy leagues in case Dyson can't keep it going.

Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 loss at Colorado.

Cabrera is slashing .275/.316/.476, and he has racked up three consecutive multi-hit contests after an ugly 1-for-20 (.050) skid. Despite the recent cold spell he has been the second-most effective hitter wearing blue and orange behind Brandon Nimmo. He has racked up 29 extra-base hits, including 12 homers, and those numbers will make him attractive leading up to the non-waiver trade deadline.
Jun 20 - 1:24 AM

Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 10-8 loss at Colorado.

Nimmo, who hails from nearby Cheyenne, Wyoming, has really enjoyed the team's road trip to the Mountain Time Zone. He is 10-for-19 with a double, three homers, seven RBI and seven runs scored over his past four outings. Nimmo has been the only consistent threat at the plate for the Mets, and he'll continue to play regularly even when Yoenis Cespedes (quadriceps) is healthy enough to return.
Jun 20 - 1:19 AM

Jason Vargas allowed seven earned runs, nine hits and no walks with no strikeouts over 2 1/3 innings in a loss Wednesday in Colorado.

Vargas threw just 30 of his 52 pitches for strikes, including just seven first-pitch strikes to the 16 batters he faced, and he hit a batter while serving up three homers. All three of the blasts came in a disastrous third inning. His ERA has been north of 7.39 for the entire season, and it currently sits at 8.60. There is absolutely no reason for fantasy owners to look his way until he pieces together a few quality starts. He hasn't lasted longer than five innings in nine outings this season, so he has a long way to go to respectability.
