Robert Murray of TodaysKnuckleball.com reports that Jim Johnson is drawing "strong" trade interest.

SB Nation's Chris Cotillo takes it a step further, saying saying the Braves are "moving toward" a trade of the reliever. The Mets are one club known to have shown interest in the veteran reliever. Johnson has posted a 2.08 ERA ERA since returning from the disabled list in early June and could land somewhere to help out in middle relief.

Stephen Piscotty is absent from the Cardinals' lineup Friday.

Piscotty is in the midst of an 0-for-12 stretch with eight strikeouts, so he'll get a breather. Jeremy Hazelbaker is in right field.

David Dahl is not in the Rockies' lineup Friday.

He'll sit against Mets lefty Steven Matz. Ryan Raburn is in left field.

Rays recalled INF/OF Nick Franklin from Triple-A Durham.

Franklin has batted .313 (15-for-48) with one home run, four doubles and 13 RBI over 19 games with the Rays this season. He'll provide infield and outfield depth.

Rays activated RHP Brad Boxberger from the 15-day disabled list.

Boxberger has been limited to just one appearance this season due to abdominal and oblique injuries. He could see some save chances down the stretch if the Rays trade Alex Colome.
Jul 29 - 3:31 PM

Rays placed OF Oswaldo Arcia on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 27, with a right elbow strain.

Arcia suffered the injury nearly a week ago and hasn't felt right even after returning to action. It's unclear at this point how much time he might miss.
Jul 29 - 3:30 PM

Rays placed 1B Logan Morrison on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 28, with a right forearm strain.

LoMo returned from the injury a couple days ago after missing a week of action, but apparently he still wasn't feeling 100 percent. It's unclear how much time he might miss. Steve Pearce will handle first base, at least until he's traded.
Jul 29 - 3:28 PM

Yoenis Cespedes (quad) is back in the Mets' lineup Friday.

Cespedes sat out Thursday after a minor aggravation of his quad injury, although he drew an intentional walk as a pinch-hitter. He's in left field and batting third against Tyler Chatwood and the Rockies.
