Brewers activated RHP Wily Peralta from the 10-day disabled list.

Peralta missed the last month with a strained calf. He'll be used in middle relief.
Jul 23 - 8:57 AM

Brewers designated RHP Rob Scahill for assignment.

It's the second time in the last month and third time since January that he's been designated for assignment. Scahill can elect free agency if he wants.
Jul 23 - 8:55 AM

Padres activated LHP Buddy Baumann from the 60-day disabled list.

Baumann has been out nearly all season with a back injury. He'll give the Padres some left-handed relief depth.
Jul 23 - 8:43 AM

Yadier Molina (ankle) went 0-for-3 with a hit by pitch in his return to the lineup Saturday.

Molina was a late scratch from Friday's lineup due to right ankle discomfort, but he'll be fine. He had a chance to tie Saturday's game with a base hit with two outs in the top of the ninth inning but struck out to end it.
Jul 23 - 8:41 AM

Nelson Cruz delivered a game-winning single in the 10th inning of Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Cruz hasn't posted an extra-base hit over the past five outings, but he still has six homers and 16 RBI across 17 games in the month of July. The All-Star remains productive, producing a slash line of .288/.364/.593 through 333 at-bats.
Jul 23 - 6:04 AM

Ben Gamel finished 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's game against the Yankees.

Gamel pushed his hitting streak to nine games. He is hitting .308 (12-for-39) with five runs scored, two homers and four RBI during the solid run. It's rare, but his average has actually slipped two points since his hitting streak started right after the All-Star break.
Jul 23 - 6:00 AM

Edwin Diaz allowed an earned run, a hit and a walk while blowing a save in the ninth inning on Saturday against the Yankees.

Diaz threw 15 of his 23 pitches for strikes, but he blew his fourth save chance of the season. Despite the shaky appearance he is not close to being on thin ice for his closer's job in Seattle.
Jul 23 - 5:56 AM

Ariel Miranda allowed two earned runs, five hits and a walk with four strikeouts across 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Yankees.

Miranda has made three appearances in the month of July, posting a 7.31 ERA across 16 innings with no decisions. He'll look to keep things trending in the right direction in his next scheduled outing Friday against the Mets.
