Andre Ellington admitted that his foot is "probably not going to feel good until January or February or whenever the season is over with."

The partial tendon tear in his foot is something that Ellington has learned to play with. Perhaps it's partially to blame for his disappointing 3.74 YPC one year after exploding for 5.52 YPC. But just because Ellington's foot is not 100 percent doesn't mean he can't sustain durability and volume, as evidenced by his 21.6 touches/game through six weeks. He'll be a borderline RB1 against the Eagles Sunday.

Reggie Bush (ankle) is not practicing Thursday.

It's a troublesome downgrade from Wednesday, when Bush was a limited participant. It's clear he's nowhere near over his ankle injury after it caused him to sit out in Week 6 and barely play in the second half of Week 7. If Bush can't go against the Falcons, Joique Bell gets a boost and Theo Riddick (questionable, hamstring) would get set for a real role. Note that inactives for this early London game will be coming down at 8:30am ET.

Calvin Johnson (ankle) is practicing Thursday and suggested a decision on his status could go to Sunday morning.

A day after getting limited work in, Johnson was encouragingly back cutting and running routes. "We're doing everything from straight-forward running to moving laterally as well," he said. "Things are going good. We're moving in a positive direction." We still suspect it makes tons of sense to hold Megatron out of this game and let him rest through the bye, but the Lions aren't tipping their hand yet. This game will kick off in the afternoon in London, meaning word on Johnson's status might not come down until roughly 8:30am ET.

Harry Douglas (foot) resumed practicing Thursday.

It's Douglas' first practice since going down in Week 3. Consider the No. 3 wideout questionable for Sunday's game in London.

Lions WR T.J. Jones (shoulder) will come off PUP shortly.

Jones will be activated off PUP so he can resume practicing with the team. The sixth-round rookie will have to prove both health and effectiveness during that span to earn a spot on the gameday roster. In theory, Jones should be able to help the Lions in the slot.

Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia) participated in the team stretch Wednesday for the first time since his late-September surgery.

After stretching, Rudolph did some running on the side with trainers. It's not much, but it is a bit of progress for a player that was hit with a 6-8 week timetable following his surgery. Owners in need of tight end help should start thinking about a stash soon as Rudolph could realistically be back immediately after the Week 10 bye. The red-zone dominator was lining up in the slot a ton before going down.

Ryan Fitzpatrick admitted he "didn't get it to Andre [Johnson] nearly enough early" in Monday's loss to the Steelers.

Johnson finished with 5-77-0 on nine targets, but had just one catch for four yards through the first three quarters. After the game, coach Bill O'Brien said that Johnson was open throughout. It sounds like we have a bit of a squeaky wheel getting greased situation heading into this week's game against the Titans.

Jaguars CB Alan Ball (bicep) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

Ball missed practice Wednesday to get a second opinion on the injury, never a good sign. The Jags may have to turn to another mediocre corner in Dwayne Gratz opposite Demetrius McCray.
