Carlos Santana went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in the Indians' loss to the Reds on Tuesday in Arizona.

Santana got ahold of a pitch in the first inning and sent into deep right-center field, but Billy Hamilton was able to track it down. Santana will try to avoid getting off to slow start in 2015 after batting just .159/.327/.301 over his first 50 games of the 2014 regular season. He went on to register an .872 OPS between the beginning of June and end of September.

Jason Marquis tossed two scoreless innings Tuesday in the Reds' Cactus League opener versus the Indians.

Marquis fanned three Reds hitters and did not allow a hit, but he did issue to walks. The 36-year-old right-hander is doubtful to crack the Reds' Opening Day roster. He signed a non-guaranteed minor league contract with Cincinnati in late January.
Mar 3 - 6:23 PM

Zach McAllister allowed one run in two innings Tuesday in the Indians' Cactus League opener against the Reds.

He gave up three hits, but walked none and struck out three. McAllister is currently fighting for one of the final spots in the Indians' rotation, but he also has experience as a reliever so he should be on the Opening day roster no matter what.
Mar 3 - 6:20 PM

Orioles signed RHP Pedro Beato to a minor league contract.

He was not invited to spring training. Beato's time in the majors the last three seasons has been minimal, as he posted a 4.10 ERA with 45 strikeouts over 48 1/3 frames at Triple-A with the Braves in 2014. He's just a depth guy.
Mar 3 - 6:11 PM

Rusney Castillo felt some pain in his left side in his final at-bat of Tuesday's spring game.

Castillo will be examined by Red Sox doctors on Wednesday morning. The 27-year-old Cuban is battling Mookie Betts for the starting center field job. Betts played in the early game Tuesday against Northeastern University and Castillo played the late-afternoon tilt versus Boston College. A spring trade of Shane Victorino could open regular playing time for both Castillo and Betts.
Mar 3 - 6:00 PM

Aaron Judge hit a three-run homer off Mario Hollands in the ninth inning Tuesday as the Yankees came back to tie the Phillies 5-5.

The 6-foot-7 Judge, a 2013 first-round pick, rates as the Yankees' top position prospect with his big-time power potential. He's set to open this year in Double-A and he probably won't reach the majors before 2016, but he could start getting Yankees fans excited with a couple of more bombs this spring.
Mar 3 - 5:38 PM

Adam Warren drew the start versus the Phillies on Tuesday and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing one hit.

Warren isn't hopeless as a starter, but all indications are that he'll return to the pen this year and battle David Carpenter for seventh-inning duties. He had a 2.97 ERA in 78 2/3 innings as a reliever last season.
Mar 3 - 5:35 PM

David Buchanan gave up a run and five hits over two innings in his start versus the Yankees on Tuesday.

A better first baseman than Ryan Howard might have had a chance at two of the hits that led to a run in the first. Much like the departed Kyle Kendrick, Buchanan will give up plenty of balls in play in front of a mediocre Phillies defense. He might be good enough to last in the rotation all season long, but it's unlikely he'll offer fantasy value at any point.
