David Wright (hamstring, back) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment at some point next week.

Wright began taking batting practice on Friday and continues to make progress in his recovery from a right hamstring strain and a back injury that he suffered during rehab. Barring any further setbacks, he should rejoin the Mets in early June.

Avisail Garcia was scratched from the White Sox starting lineup on Friday due to inflammation in his right knee.

The knee has been a constant issue for Garcia in recent weeks and has caused him to miss several games along the way. J.B. Shuck will start in his place on Friday and bat seventh against Phil Hughes and the Twins.
May 22 - 6:54 PM

Oswaldo Arcia (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Sunday.

He shouldn't need more than a few games before being activated. Arcia is still feeling some discomfort in his right hip when he throws, so he's likely slated for designated hitter duty initially upon his activation from the disabled list.
May 22 - 5:27 PM

David Hale will start the second game of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Giants.

He'll be matched up against Yusmeiro Petit. Hale began the season on the disabled list with an oblique injury and has posted a 6.93 ERA over five Triple-A outings. He'll be sent back down after the spot start.
May 22 - 5:24 PM

Ike Davis (quad) has yet to resume baseball activities.

Davis is a week removed from a Grade 2 strain in his left quad. He's going to require more than a minimum stay on the DL, although an exact timetable isn't known at this point.
May 22 - 5:16 PM

Carlos Rodon's next scheduled start will be pushed back.

It's all part of the plan to limit Rodon's innings this season. Hector Noesi will start on Monday against the Blue Jays in the lefty's vacated spot. Rodon should get a start later in the week, although the White Sox haven't revealed the exact day it will happen.
May 22 - 5:14 PM

Coco Crisp will not undergo surgery to repair his nagging neck injury.

Crisp revealed via social media on Thursday that he received "disheartening news" about his neck after seeing a doctor, but the plan is to treat the ailment with rest and rehab. The alternative would be a potentially career-ending operation, so it's no surprise they chose the former route. The A's haven't decided yet whether to place Crisp on the disabled list.
May 22 - 5:11 PM

Devon Travis (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the disabled list on June 1 when first eligible.

Travis was placed on the DL on Thursday after battling a left shoulder injury for a few days. It's a minor ailment, though, as he's been given a cortisone shot and should resume full workouts before long. The rookie had been scuffling at the dish of late before the DL move, batting just .162/.205/.243 over his previous 10 games.
