Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo told Jim Bowden of MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that he is not willing to meet the Marlins' asking price on J.T. Realmuto.

This could be posturing, but Rizzo was pretty direct: "They’ve got a great player in Realmuto," said the Nats' GM. "They’re not going to sell him cheap. We know what the return has to be on Realmuto, and we’re not willing to meet that price. So unless something changes there, on their end, we’re going to go with [Matt] Wieters when he gets healthy and a combination of [Pedro] Severino and [Spencer] Kieboom to back him up." Realmuto, 27, is batting .297/.355/.524 with nine home runs and 27 RBI in 54 games this season for a Marlins team that stands 29-46. He is under control through 2020.

Astros OF prospect went 3-for-5 with a homer and a stolen base on Thursday for Triple-A Fresno.

The homer gives Tucker 10 on the season, and the stolen base is the 12th for the outfielder. The fifth selection of the 2015 draft is scorching hot with the bat, and now has his OPS up to .881 on the season. While not the fleetest of foot, Tucker is a very smart baserunner, and he should be able to steal bases at the next level. The power should carry over, too, which is why Tucker is one of the best fantasy prospects in all of baseball.

Braves RHP prospect Kyle Wright hurled seven two-run innings while striking out eight on Thursday for Double-A Mississippi.

Only one of the runs was earned, as Wright scattered seven hits and didn't walk anyone. The fifth pick of the 2017 draft, Wright has been mostly solid in his first full professional season, but there have been some struggles as seen in his 4.11 ERA and 33 walks in 76 2/3 innings. When he's operating at his best, he shows four swing-and-miss pitches, and he throws them for strikes. There's some work to be done, but there's a real chance he could be pitching for the Braves by this point in 2019.

Reds INF prospect Nick Senzel went 2-for-4 with two homers on Thursday for Triple-A Louisville.

It's homers five and six for the 22-year-old in 43 games. Senzel has been red-hot with the bat since returning from the disabled list after a bout with Vertigo, and his average has raised nearly 40 points to .310 in just two weeks. The question isn't if Senzel is ready, but rather how they get him into the lineup. It may take a trade of an injury, but at some point, you have to think he'll be up with the Reds to finish the year.

Mariners activated RHP Nick Vincent from Triple-A Tacoma.

Vincent will rejoin the Mariners' bullpen on Friday night in Boston after missing four weeks with a strained groin. The 31-year-old right-hander had a 4.09 ERA and 23/6 K/BB ratio in 22 innings before the injury.

Mariners optioned RHP Ryan Cook to Triple-A Tacoma.

Cook owns a rough 6.75 ERA in in 9 1/3 innings this season at the major league level. Nick Vincent (groin) has been activated off the DL in a corresponding move.

Khris Davis (illness) is back in the A's starting lineup for the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Davis will DH and bat cleanup against White Sox right-hander James Shields after missing one game with a stomach bug. The 30-year-old slugger boasts an .850 OPS with 20 home runs and 49 RBI in 64 games this season.

White Sox designated OF Trayce Thompson for assignment.

Thompson might be moving on to yet another organization. He was in Dodgers camp this spring, then got claimed off waivers by the Yankees before heading to Oakland and then Chicago. The 27-year-old outfielder is a career .206/.276/.389 career hitter in the major leagues.
