Brett Gardner went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored against the Rays on Sunday.

Gardner hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to get the Yankees on the board, and his run scored in the 12th inning ended up being the game-winning run. The run scored was his seventh of the year after scoring 81 runs in 2013.

Cesar Ramos allowed one run on four hits over five innings but didn't factor in the decision in Sunday's loss to the Yankees.

Ramos struggled in his first start but showed a lot more Sunday, walking one while striking out three. He was pressed into action with the injuries to Rays starters Alex Cobb and Matt Moore, and the southpaw likely garnered another start with the positive outing. He'll take the hill Saturday at the White Sox.
Apr 20 - 6:37 PM

Vidal Nuno held the upstart Rays offense scoreless over five innings in Sunday's extra-inning victory.

The Rays had scored 27 runs over the first two games of the series, but the lefty found the antidote on Sunday. Nuno allowed just three hits and two walks while striking out six on the day. With Ivan Nova hitting the disabled list with an elbow injury, Nuno is the most likely candidate to replace him in the rotation. His next start will likely come Saturday against the Angels.

Khris Davis' 14th-inning home run gave the Brewers a 3-2 win over the Pirates on Sunday.

Davis had three hits on the day, but none were bigger than his solo shot off Jeanmar Gomez. The home run was Davis' first of the season after smacking 11 in 136 at-bats last season, but his power is undoubted.
Apr 20 - 6:33 PM

Jason Grilli suffered his third blown save against the Brewers, allowing a solo home run in the ninth inning Sunday.

Called on to protect a one-run lead, Grilli recorded a quick out before Ryan Braun deposited a pitch into the left field bleachers. It was Grilli's third blown save in eight appearances this season after blowing just two opportunities all of last year. The job as the Pirates' stopper likely still belongs to Grilli, but it can't be too safe given his early failures.
Apr 20 - 6:26 PM

Neil Walker went 3-for-6 with a home run in Sunday's loss to the Brewers.

The Pirates lost in 14 innings, but 10 innings earlier Walker gave them a lead with the solo shot off Brewers starter Marco Estrada. It was Walker's sixth home run of the season after hitting a career-high 16 last year. He's well on his way to another personal best this season.
Apr 20 - 6:26 PM

Mark Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a home run in Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Reynolds went yard against Pirates starter Gerrit Cole to break up Cole's shutout in the eighth inning. He also doubled off Cole earlier in the game. After spending the last year as a part-time player, Reynolds has found a home at first base with the Brewers this year.
Apr 20 - 6:24 PM

Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 with a game-tying solo home run in the ninth inning of Sunday's game against the Pirates.

With Pirates closer Jason Grilli on to finish the game, Braun took a slider deep to left to knot the score at 2-2. The homer was Braun's sixth of the season. He's also got 14 RBI and is batting .300 for the year, bad thumb and all.
