A.J. Ellis doesn't expect to miss any time after he was involved in a home-plate collision with Jon Jay in the second inning of Friday's loss to the Cardinals.

Matt Wieters is not in Saturday's lineup against the Blue Jays.

Wieters played all nine innings in Friday's win, so the Orioles will rest him in a day game following a night outing. He's batting just .192 (3-for-25) with one home run in his last seven games.

Jason Kipnis is not in the Indians' lineup Saturday.

Michael Bourn is not in Saturday's lineup against the Red Sox.

No word yet on the reason for his absence, but the Indians' are likely just giving him a scheduled day of rest. Bourn spent three weeks on the DL earlier this month with a finger injury.

Brandon Beachy (elbow) allowed two runs over four innings in his first minor league rehab start Friday with Triple-A Gwinnett.

It was his first game action since undergoing Tommy John surgery last June. Beachy is expected to make around five starts in the minors, so he should be an option for the Braves' rotation in 3-4 weeks if he can avoid setbacks.

Blue Jays recalled RHP Thad Weber from Triple-A Buffalo.

Weber was claimed off waivers earlier this week and will serve as bullpen depth. The 28-year-old right-hander owns a 3.93 ERA and 26/4 K/BB ratio in 34 1/3 innings over six starts at the Triple-A level this season.

Tommy Hanson could be activated for Thursday night's game against the Dodgers.

The Angels current plan is for Hanson to throw 75 pitches in extended spring training Saturday and he could only need one start before he rejoins the Angels' rotation. Hanson is returning from a three week stint on the bereavement list.

Jered Weaver (elbow) is expected to start Wednesday against the Dodgers.

Weaver, on the disabled list since April 9, will throw a bullpen session Sunday before he's cleared to rejoin the Angels. The Los Angeles Times expects Joe Blanton to lose his rotation spot when Weaver returns.
