Rob Segedin (wrist) need surgery on his wrist, not on his injured toe, the Dodgers clarified on Friday.

Segedin has been battling turf toe for the past month, but it turns out he needs corrective surgery on his right wrist on Wednesday. He is expected to be sidelined until after the All-Star break.

Alex Wood allowed two hits and two walks over five scoreless innings in a win against the Cubs on Friday.

Wood struck out eight batters in the 91-pitch quality start, improving to 6-0 while lowering his ERA to 1.69. The southpaw also extended his career-high scoreless innings streak to 25 1/3, longest in the majors this season. Injuries have kept him from reaching his potential in the past, but he is 100 percent healthy this season and enjoying the best start of his career.

Antonio Senzatela shut out the Cardinals for eight innings to win in Coors Field on Friday.

Senzatela is the NL Rookie of the Year to date, unless it's his rotationmate Kyle Freeland. Senzatela is tied for the major league lead with seven wins, and he has a 3.19 ERA. His peripherals aren't as impressive, but while he shouldn't be this good going forward, there's also little reason to think he'll fall apart.
May 27 - 1:06 AM

Carlos Martinez yielded three runs in 7 1/3 innings and struck out nine Friday in a loss to the Rockies.

That's a fine Coors Field outing for Martinez, but there was no run support to be had tonight. It was the second time this season that the Cardinals have been shut out in a Martinez start. They've averaged 3.6 runs per game in his start, which is why he has a 3-4 record to go along with his 3.32 ERA.

Charlie Blackmon went 4-for-4 with a homer, a triple and a walk Friday in the rout of the Cardinals.

Blackmon is batting .388 with five homers and 21 RBI this month. Incredibly, he's leading the NL with 45 RBI even though he's hit leadoff exclusively this year.
May 27 - 1:00 AM

Mark Reynolds went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI against the Cardinals on Friday.

Reynolds sat out a couple of games in favor of Gerardo Parra earlier this week, even though he has about 300 points of OPS on Parra. He's already starting to fade some and he should continue to decline from here, but he's still a better bet than Parra going forward.
May 27 - 12:58 AM

Chris Archer fanned 11 while allowing two runs over 7 2/3 innings Friday in a victory over the Twins.

That's four games this month with 11 or 12 strikeouts for Archer. He's had some days this year in which his command has let him down and he hasn't been very efficient in hi stronger outings, but 4-3 with a 3.61 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 11 starts has still made him pretty valuable from a fantasy perspective.
May 27 - 12:54 AM

Logan Morrison had a two-run homer and a walk against the Twins on Friday.

Morrison got off to a strong start for once, so he's even playing against southpaws at the moment and he homered off one in Hector Santiago tonight. He has eight homers and 20 RBI in 23 games this month.
