Chargers GM Tom Telesco declined to say if coach Mike McCoy will be back next season.
"We're not looking toward 2017 yet," Telesco said. "We've had some tough games that we've lost. Mike has kept this team together. So there's some good things, but the other side is we've got seven losses with four games to go, which is where nobody wants to be." McCoy signed a one-year extension prior to the season to avoid lame-duck status. He's on the hot seat after losing three of his last five weeks. The Chargers offense has rebounded under McCoy this year but their defense and late game collapses have remained a big part of their struggles. McCoy may need to win out to avoid being fired.
The Detroit Free Press reports WLB DeAndre Levy (questionable, knee) "finally appears ready" to return.
Levy is trending toward playing after he was more involved in practice this week. Per beat writer Dave Birkett, "all indications" are he’s going to be active. Levy has been out since Week 1 and should see limited snaps in his first back. A healthy Levy is a huge upgrade for Detroit's stretch-run defense.
Bucs RT Demar Dotson (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 14.
Dotson wasn't cleared after not practicing all week. It's a downgrade to an already struggling run game. Gosder Cherilus will start in Dotson's place.
Steelers LG Ramon Foster (chest) is questionable for Week 14 against the Bills.
Foster did not practice at all this week after taking a helmet to the chest against the Giants. B.J. Finney will get the nod at left guard if Foster misses the game. Foster sitting out would be a blow for the entire offense.
Detroit will host Chicago QB Matt Barkley in Week 14, who has managed to completed just 51.7 percent of his pass attempts in 2016.
In addition to the low completion percentage, Barkley has four interceptions in limited action this season and has thrown an interception once every 17.1 pass attempts in his career. The Lions D/ST has been solid over the second half of the season and is a prime streaming target for Week 14 while owned in just 23 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Saints LT Terron Armstead (knee, quad) is questionable for Week 14.
Armstead only got in two limited practices this week. He'll likely be a game-time decision against the Bucs. Andrus Peat will start if Armstead is held out.
Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (back) is listed as questionable for Week 14.
Smith has dealt with back issues all year. The Cowboys limited his reps in practice this week. Smith should be fine for Sunday night's game against the Giants.
Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) was limited in Friday's practice.
Bennett admitted he's not 100 percent but is going to continue playing through his injuries. He's a touchdown-dependent TE1 for Monday's game with Baltimore.
