DeAngelo Williams (ankle) will miss Week 8, but the Panthers are "hopeful" he can return for next Thursday's game against the Saints.

Sunday will be D-Will's fourth-straight absence. He's yet to resume practicing, so a Week 9 return is far from a sure thing. The injury-prone Williams is a weak stash in 10-12 team re-draft leagues.

Speaking Thursday, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley confirmed Denard Robinson will remain the starting running back for Week 8 even with Toby Gerhart (foot) returning.

Bradley said Gerhart will get "some reps," but Gerhart was being phased out of his starting job even before he started missing games. He'll fight for scraps with Jordan Todman and Storm Johnson behind Shoelace. Robinson is the only Jaguars' runner worth starting for Week 8, though he has a difficult matchup in the Dolphins' solid run defense.

The Ravens aren't concerned about Owen Daniels' (knee) Week 8 status.

Daniels has yet to practice this week, but OC Gary Kubiak says he's "fine." He should return for a limited session on Friday, and earn a "questionable" tag on the injury report. Daniels is in the TE1 discussion against a Bengals team hemorrhaging fantasy points to tight ends.

Toby Gerhart (foot) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Barring a setback, Gerhart will be good to go for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. However, he should be operating as no better than the No. 2 back after Denard Robinson had the first good game from any Jags runner in Week 7. Gerhart isn't on the re-draft or daily-league radar for Week 8.

Speaking Thursday, coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed the Titans have benched Jake Locker for sixth-round rookie Zach Mettenberger.

"We are searching to find out what's best," were the words of OC Jason Michael. "(Mettenberger is a) confident guy who has played in a big environment. We are confident in him." That may be true, but it doesn't get more desperate than throwing a sixth-rounder to the J.J. Watt-led wolves in his first NFL start. Mettenberger isn't on the Week 8 daily-league radar. He'll be backed up by Locker, with Charlie Whitehurst serving as the No. 3.

Darren Sproles (knee) practiced on Thursday, getting in another limited session.

Sproles is still trending in the right direction for Sunday's game against the Cardinals, but his status can't yet be taken for granted. If Sproles does go, he'll be a hard sell as a snap-count RB3 at less than 100 percent.
Oct 23 - 2:41 PM

Bears CB Kyle Fuller (hip, broken hand) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Fuller's status for Sunday's game against the Patriots remains up in the air, but this is obviously a major step in the right direction. If Fuller does play, it will have to be with protection on his hand, which is never good news for a defensive back.
Oct 23 - 2:32 PM

Vincent Jackson (ribs) practiced in pads on Thursday.

V-Jax got a "limited" designation without pads on Wednesday, so it's possible he'll be listed as "full" on Thursday. Either way, his health is not a question mark for Week 8. He'll be good to go as a WR2 against the Vikings.
