White Sox recalled RHP Gregory Infante from Triple-A Charlotte.

Infante made three appearances at Charlotte, striking out five over three scoreless innings. He'll take the place of Danny Farquhar, who suffered a scary and potentially life-threatening brain aneurysm during Friday's game.

Paul DeJong went 2-for-4 and whacked a two-run homer against the Reds on Saturday.

He homered against Homer Bailey to open the scoring in the second inning. He added a double later in the ballgame. So far he is proving that last year's breakout rookie season was not a fluke. His .250/.308/.542 slash line is very similar to last year's numbers. He has six home runs, 10 RBI and 11 runs scored through 20 games. One thing to watch is his strikeout rate, which has spiked to 31 whiffs in 72 at-bats to date.

Steven Souza (pectoral) will resume throwing Sunday.

Souza was shut down earlier this month after feeling some soreness in the injured right pectoral, but he's ready to give it another go. The injury has lingered longer than the club initially anticipated, and it's unclear what his path to reinstatement is at this point. A rehab assignment is likely, making an early May return seem like a best-case scenario.

Dan Straily (forearm) will make his next rehab start Tuesday with Double-A Jacksonville.

Straily is on the comeback trail from a minor forearm strain suffered late in spring, and Tuesday's outing might be his last one before being reinstated. Even if it isn't, he's likely close, possibly before the end of the month. Once activated, the 29-year-old will immediately slide back into the Marlins' rotation.

Yadier Molina went 2-for-3 with a home run and a stolen base in Saturday's win over the Reds.

His solo shot off reliever Jared Hughes put the Cardinals in the lead in the seventh inning and ultimately proved to be the winning run. The stolen bag was his second of the season. The veteran backstop is off to a fine start to the year, slashing .292/.316/.569 with six homers and 15 RBI in 19 games. It seems unlikely but he has been the top fantasy catcher so far this year, with Yasmani Grandal his closest competitor.

Jake Lamb (shoulder) could travel with the team to Philadelphia for their upcoming road trip, manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday.

The team heads to Philly after wrapping up their series with the Padres on Sunday, so that suggests Lamb is very close to a return. He's been out since April 3 with an AC sprain in his left shoulder. It would be a welcome return for the D'backs, who have been leaning on Deven Marrero and Daniel Descalso at third in Lamb's absence.
Apr 21 - 5:38 PM

Jesse Winker went 2-for-3 and scored a run in a loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

He also walked twice in the ballgame, meaning he reached base four times in five chances today and boosted his on-base percentage to .444 after 17 games, putting him in the top 10 in the majors in that category. He still has just one extra-base hit on the season but is doing a great job setting the table as the Reds' lead-off batter. He has more walks (13) than strikeouts (11) this season.
Apr 21 - 5:33 PM

Matt Koch will make another start for the Diamondbacks, manager Torey Lovullo said Saturday.

Koch pitched well in his first start filling in for Taijuan Walker, allowing one earned run over six innings against the Padres, so the announcement doesn't come as a huge surprise. The start is likely to come Tuesday against the Dodgers, a tough test against the defending National League champs.
