Ryan Braun is not in the Brewers' lineup for the second straight day Sunday due to neck stiffness/soreness.

Add another injury to the list. Braun has also battled back and wrist injuries this season and has played just six out of the last 14 games. He's been outstanding when healthy, batting .351/.424/.583 with nine home runs. Braun's name keeps popping up in trade rumors, but his inability to stay on the field could hurt his market.

Orioles manager Buck Showalter said Sunday that Ubaldo Jimenez is the "projected" starter for the club on Thursday.

While Jimenez is currently penciled in to start, it sounds like it's not a guarantee that he'll take the ball that day. It's not a surprise that it appears the O's are considering a change, as the righty lasted just 1 2/3 innings Saturday and now holds a 6.36 ERA.

J.J. Hardy had the boot on his left foot removed and he will undergo a CT scan.

A recent X-ray showed significant healing with Hardy's foot, but he's remained sore. Depends on what the CT scan shows, it sounds like he could resume baseball activities soon.

Diamondbacks optioned RHP Dominic Leone to Triple-A Reno.

Leone has allowed four runs over three relief innings in the majors this season. He'll return to a 2.16 ERA at Reno.

Diamondbacks recalled RHP Archie Bradley from Triple-A Reno.

He will start on Sunday against the Padres in place of Shelby Miller (finger). Bradley holds a 6.26 ERA over 10 starts at the major league level, but he's put up a 1.99 ERA with 47 strikeouts over 40 2/3 frames at Reno this season. With Rubby De La Rosa (elbow) also on the shelf, Bradley could stick in the rotation for a while if he pitches well. He's worth a look in deeper formats.

The Cardinals plan to keep Aledmys Diaz at shortstop after Jhonny Peralta's (thumb) return from the disabled list.

The common thought had been that Diaz would move around to different infield positions after Peralta returns. But, while Diaz could play some second and third base, it sounds like the Cards intend to leave him at shortstop most days and move Peralta and Matt Carpenter around the diamond instead. Diaz has struggled defensively at shortstop this season but has been much better of late. "I feel like it’s going to create a fresh opportunity for us, but I also feel like given what you’re seeing out of Diaz at his age (25) you really need to see him develop at shortstop," general manager John Mozeliak said. "When you look at what he’s been able to do, seeing him hold that spot for the next five or six years is reasonable to think. We want to keep him developing and also figure out the right combination to win games. We need to have at least one player moving around. We need one of the veterans to say, ‘Hey, I’m willing.’"

Kendrys Morales (finger) is back in the Royals' lineup Sunday.

Morales hasn't played since Tuesday due to a sprained right finger, but he took batting practice Sunday without any issues. He's in the designated hitter spot and hitting fifth against Chris Sale and the White Sox.

C.J. Wilson will be shut down indefinitely after feeling soreness in his pitching arm during Saturday's rehab start.

Wilson was initially diagnosed with biceps tendinitis, although more details will be available after he undergoes an MRI. The left-hander got a late start to spring training while working his way back from elbow surgery and has had multiple setbacks with his shoulder since then. He's in the final year of a five-year contract that's paying him $20 million this season.
