Ex-Cowboys, Chiefs and Patriots OG Brian Waters has announced his retirement from the NFL.

A 1999 undrafted free agent, Waters ended up playing 13 seasons, infamously sitting out 2012 as the Patriots refused to release his rights so he could play closer to his native Texas. A six-time Pro Bowler, Waters was a 2004 All-Pro for Dick Vermeil's high-powered Chiefs offense. Now 37, Waters hangs up his cleats having made 170 career starts.

Texans CB Johnathan Joseph (toe surgery) still isn't 100 percent, but is ready for the start of the regular season.

Joseph at less than 100 percent could be a scary thought for Texans fans, as he's been extremely inconsistent through his three years in Houston, especially as he played through his toe issue in 2013. He's again starting opposite Kareem Jackson.

Colts owner Jim Irsay has been suspended six games and fined $500,000 after pleading guilty to operating a vehicle under the influence.

Irsay is not only banned from club or league functions, but social media, as well. It's a huge penalty for a first-time offense, especially since Irsay ultimately only admitted to one misdemeanor. Prone to heavy-handed dealings with players, commissioner Roger Goodell shouldn't be accused of hypocrisy in his dealings with Irsay.

The Jaguars' "unofficial" Week 1 depth chart has Denard Robinson listed as the No. 2 running back ahead of Jordan Todman.

The move comes after Robinson's strong preseason. Shoelace rushed 21 times for 94 yards (4.47 YPC) and a score, adding two catches for 24 yards. Todman was far-less effective, rushing 29 times for only 63 yards (2.17 YPA) and a TD. He was 12/107/0 as a receiver. It appears Shoelace will operate as the Jags' primary change-of-pace back behind Toby Gerhart, but he'd be in a committee with Todman, and perhaps Storm Johnson, were Gerhart to go down. Robinson is not a re-draft consideration outside of exceptionally-deep PPR leagues.

Larry Fitzgerald sat out of Tuesday's unofficial practice with a knee issue.

It's almost certainly just a precaution. With the Cardinals playing on Monday night, they won't release their first official injury report until Thursday. It's something for Fitz's owners to be aware of, but not to fret over.

Eagles RB Chris Polk (hamstring) did "everything" in Tuesday's practice, and expects to be ready for Sunday's opener.

Polk is finally rounding to full health after missing the majority of camp. Although Darren Sproles is technically the Eagles' No. 2 running back, Polk is LeSean McCoy's direct backup and handcuff.

Arian Foster (back, hamstring) says he feels "wonderful" physically.

Foster sat out the entire preseason for the second straight year, but probably could have suited up for the Texans' final two games. "I’m excited about (Sunday)," Foster said Tuesday. "I can’t wait to play football." Foster has the right role for fantasy success, but an increasingly-worrisome injury history. For now, he's a borderline RB1.

Junior Galette's player rep denies that he's reached a multi-year extension with the Saints.

"We have not agreed to a deal with the Saints for Junior Galette," his rep said on Twitter, adding multiple exclamation points for emphasis. Although Galette's agent should obviously be taken at his word, it doesn't mean a deal isn't close. One will likely be finalized before the end of the week.
