Athletics minor league INF/OF Arismendy Alcantara produced four hits in Monday's win for Triple-A Nashville.

He drove in four runs as the Sounds rolled to an easy 12-5 win over Omaha. Alcantara has been scorching hot over his last 10 games, hitting .510 with 12 RBI while raising his season average from .238 to .282. The 24-year-old leads the Pacific Coast League with 28 steals and has only been caught three times this season. Alcantara was traded from the Cubs last month in a deal that sent Chris Coghlan back to Chicago. He's gone 3-for-13 in five games in the majors this year.

Royals recalled INF Raul Mondesi from Triple-A Omaha.

In turn, the struggling Whit Merrifield has been sent down. Regarded as the Royals' top position prospect, Mondesi has missed a big chunk of the season after serving a 50-game PED suspension, has played well since his promotion to Triple-A earlier this month. His plate discipline is shaky, so we're not convinced he'll see immediate success in the majors, but the Royals are looking for a spark and his speed could come in handy in deeper fantasy leagues assuming he gets regular starts.

Pirates optioned C Elias Diaz to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Phillies 1B prospect Rhys Hoskins smashed a solo home run Monday in a win for Double-A Reading.

He's been doing a lot of that recently. Four of Hoskins' league-leading 29 homers have come during his seven-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old has hit .434 during that span while raising his season average from .277 to .286. In addition to home runs, Hoskins also leads the Eastern League in RBI (91), slugging percentage (.584), OPS (.942) and total bases (216).
