Eagles RB Chris Polk (hamstring) returned to practice Saturday.

Polk has been sidelined since the second day of camp with a partial tear of his hamstring. In his absence, UDFAs Matthew Tucker and Henry Josey have put in solid performances, pushing Polk squarely onto the roster bubble. A good showing in the fourth preseason game would go a long way in securing Polk's roster status.

Eagles QB Mark Sanchez will not play in the Eagles' fourth preseason game against the Jets.

Matt Barkley will start and play most of the game, confirming Sanchez is the No. 2 quarterback in Philly. Originally billed as a camp battle, Sanchez has easily bested Barkley for the backup job. Sanchez has completed 25-of-31 passes for 281 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception this preseason.

CBs Jimmy Smith, Lardarius Webb and Asa Jackson are all expected to miss the Ravens' third preseason game Saturday.

Smith is recovering from the chest contusion he suffered in the second preseason game. Webb has been out since late-July with back spasms. Asa Jackson has a sprained ankle. All three are expected back for Week 1.

Eagles cut DE Alejandro Villanueva, K Carey Spear, DE Francis Mays and CB Davon Morgan.

A former Army Ranger, Villanueva served three tours in Afghanistan after graduating from West Point. He recorded six tackles and one sack this preseason. Nicknamed Murderleg, Spear was competing with Alex Henery for the place kicking duties.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Packers believe NT B.J. Raji suffered a torn bicep in the team's third preseason game Friday night.

Raji is undergoing tests to determine if the bicep is fully or partially torn. There had been some optimism that Raji's injury was minor, but either scenario would force him to miss significant time. The Packers should update his status following the tests.

ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer does not believe RB Ryan Williams will make the final roster.

Williams has been impressive this preseason, but he has been outplayed by second-year back Joseph Randle. Unless the Cowboys decide to keep four running backs, Williams will likely be cut. Finally healthy, Williams will have no shortage of suitors if he hits the open market.

Nate Allen has earned the start at strong safety in all three of the Eagles' preseason games.

Coach Chip Kelly would not commit to Allen, but said he has had an "outstanding camp." It would be surprising if Allen does not open the season as the starter opposite Malcolm Jenkins. Earl Wolff should serve as the third safety.

FS Earl Thomas is the favorite to return punts for the Seahawks this season.

Thomas almost broke a 59-yard return for a touchdown in the Seahawks' third preseason game Friday night. It seems unwise to risk an All-Pro safety that was just given a huge contract extension on punt returns, but Thomas is a dynamic player with the ball in his hands.
