The Dodgers will recall Walker Buehler to start Monday versus the Marlins.

The Dodgers needed a fill-in for Rich Hill (finger). The feeling is that Hill should be ready to go later this week, so it will probably only be a spot start for Buehler in all likelihood. Still, he's a worthy streamer in a nice matchup. The top prospect has posted a 2.08 ERA and 16/4 K/BB ratio over 13 innings this season for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Buehler will be making his first major league start after he was up for eight relief appearances last year.
Apr 22 - 2:17 PM

Angels optioned RHP Eduardo Paredes from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Paredes' latest major league stint lasted one day and he didn't make an appearance. He's clearing out to make room for Sunday's starter, Jaime Barria.
Apr 22 - 2:00 PM

Angels recalled RHP Jaime Barria from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Barria will start Sunday against the Giants. The 21-year-old pitched well in a spot start earlier this month and could have a shot to remain in the rotation for a while with the Angels' injuries.
Apr 22 - 1:58 PM

Buster Posey (back) is back in the Giants' lineup Sunday.

Posey was a late scratch Saturday due to back tightness, but he's feeling well enough to give it a go in this one. He's catching and batting cleanup versus Jaime Barria and the Angels.
Apr 22 - 1:44 PM

Drew Pomeranz's next start will not come until next weekend.

Pomeranz would be on turn for a start during the April 24-26 series in Toronto, but the Red Sox are taking advantage of an off day Monday to give him some extra rest. It's not a bad idea after he returned from an arm injury and wasn't terribly sharp last Friday. Chris Sale will start on regular rest Thursday.
Apr 22 - 1:36 PM

Albert Pujols is not in the Angels' lineup Sunday.

It's his first day off of the season. The Halos have moved Shohei Ohtani up to the cleanup spot with Pujols getting a breather.
Apr 22 - 1:28 PM

Mookie Betts is absent from the Red Sox' lineup Sunday.

It looks to be a routine day of rest. J.D. Martinez is getting a start in the outfield and Blake Swihart is in the designated hitter spot.
Apr 22 - 1:25 PM

Dee Gordon is dealing with a minor foot injury.

It's part of the reason why he's not starting Sunday, although the Mariners had already been looking to get him a day off. They expect to use Gordon off the bench Sunday. Mitch Haniger has slid over to center field and Ichiro Suzuki is in right.
