ESPN's Josina Anderson reports people close to Earl Thomas (broken leg, injured reserve) said the safety will "be okay" and "just needs time."

Thomas tweeted he was considering retirement after breaking his leg on Sunday night, and Adam Schefter gave credence to the tweet in a report on Monday night. Schefter said the Seahawks do not believe he is really considering retirement, however, and this report seems to suggest the retirement talk is just an (understandable) emotional reaction. Thomas should be back next season.

Giants coach Ben McAdoo blamed an inconsistent offense for Victor Cruz's quiet Week 13.

Cruz said he plans to talk to McAdoo after being held without a target against the Steelers. "Victor, like everybody else, including myself, wants to be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem," McAdoo said. "So my door is always open for any of these guys that want to come in and have a conversation." The offense has been bad recently, but Cruz is likely more upset about his snaps being cut than the lack of targets. The veteran ended up playing three fewer plays than undrafted rookie Roger Lewis. With the Giants looking for answers in the passing game, it is possible Cruz will see his role diminish even further.

Clay Matthews is expected to keep playing through his shoulder injury.

Matthews was limited to just 29 snaps against the Texans, but the Packers need him with injuries mounting at linebacker. Both Jake Ryan (ankle) and Blake Martinez (knee) are fighting through issues at inside linebacker, and OLB Nick Perry is dealing with a hand injury of his own. Those issues mean Matthews will continue to see sporadic snaps both at inside linebacker and as a situational pass rusher even at far less than 100 percent.

Colts RG Denzelle Good suffered a concussion Monday night against the Jets.

Good has been placed in the protocol. Joe Haeg moved inside after Good left the game with Joe Reitz filling in at right tackle. That could be the lineup this week in an important divisional matchup with the Texans.

Colts ILB D'Qwell Jackson suffered a concussion Monday night.

Jackson left in the second half of the blowout win and never returned. He has been placed in the protocol. The Colts have an important divisional matchup with the Texans on Sunday.

Coach Todd Bowles said Bryce Petty will start the Jets' final four games.

Owners of Ryan Fitzpatrick can release him. Petty will get starts at the 49ers, vs. the Dolphins, at the Patriots, and vs. the Bills to close out the year. At 3-9, it makes sense for the Jets to get a look at Petty to see if they have anything here. By the looks of his first few NFL appearances, chances are slim. He has a big arm, but struggles with accuracy. Petty's insertion to the lineup is a big downgrade to Brandon Marshall, but might give Robby Anderson a slight boost.

Bilal Powell rushed one time for three yards in the Jets' Week 13 loss to the Colts.

He didn't catch a pass on just one target. A week after piling up 43 yards on nine touches against the Patriots, Powell wasn't even in the game plan in this one, despite the Colts blowing the doors off the Jets. C.J. Spiller touched the ball three times behind Matt Forte, totaling 12 yards. Powell might be able to bounce back next week at the 49ers, but he's impossible to trust.

Phillip Dorsett didn't catch a pass in the Colts' Week 13 win over the Jets.

He was targeted just once, drawing a long defensive pass interference on the play against LB Julian Stanford, who was trying to cover the speedy Dorsett way down field. Dorsett's only stat was a seven-yard rush where he drew a 15-yard late-hit penalty at the end of it. He's not on the fantasy map.
