Saints waived WR Seantavius Jones.

Jones was only due $600,000, so the Saints clearly didn't see much potential in him. Jones has spent the last two offseasons being talked up by Saints beat writers along with Brandon Coleman. Coleman flopped in his 2015 increased opportunity, while 23-year-old Jones barely saw the field.

Saints released RG Jahri Evans.

The move saves over $7 million in salary cap room. Evans, 32, had spent his entire career with the Saints, earning six Pro Bowl trips and four first-team All-Pro berths across ten seasons. Evans' body has begun to break down in recent years, however, most notably battling wrist and knee injuries. The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci reported last March that the Bills had interest in trading for Evans, so perhaps we'll see him resurface in Buffalo. Evans is coming off an okay-not-great season in New Orleans. He should have one or two years left as a capable NFL starter.

According to the police affidavit signed by alleged victim Colleen Crowley, Johnny Manziel beat and threatened to kill Crowley on January 29.

Manziel's ex-girlfriend, Crowley filed the affidavit as part of a request for a restraining order against Johnny Football. Crowley alleges Manziel hit her so hard he ruptured her eardrum and caused what's so far been permanent hearing loss in Crowley's left ear. Crowley also accuses Manziel of preventing her from leaving a Dallas hotel room and grabbing her by the hair and throwing Crowley into a vehicle. "Shut up or I'll kill us both," Manziel allegedly told Crowley at one point. Manziel and Crowley dated for two years and lived together for four months in Cleveland before the Dallas incident. Manziel agreed to the restraining order, which forbids him from seeing Crowley for two years. Police are still investigating whether Manziel should be arrested for domestic violence.

Seahawks signed CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste to a reserve/future contract.

The 58th overall pick in the 2014 draft, Jean-Baptiste flamed out quickly with the Saints and wasn't retained after a brief 2015 practice squad stint with the Lions. Turning 26 in April, Jean-Baptiste was viewed as a high-upside press corner prospect coming out of Nebraska at nearly 6-foot-3 and 218 pounds with a freakish 41 1/2-inch vertical. The Seahawks will try to coach up Jean-Baptiste, perhaps in hopes he becomes their next Brandon Browner.

Cal QB Jared Goff plans to throw at the Combine.

Throwing at the Combine has become an annual "will they or won't they?" with the draft's top quarterbacks, but Goff said he plans to do every drill. "I think it’s the right thing to do," Goff said. "I’ve got nothing to hide. Go out there and throw and have some fun." Goff still has time to change his mind, of course. As things stand now, Goff appears likely to be a top-10 pick.

DeMarcus Ware says he isn't planning to retire.

Ware is going on 34 and missed five games with injury this season, but will keep going. "I got a lot of gas in the tank," Ware said Sunday evening. "I don't think about retiring. God still wants me to play, that's why I'm still doing what I'm doing." Headed into the final year of his contract, Ware is due $7 million, plus a $3 million roster bonus. With a number of key free agents, the Broncos could approach Ware about a restructure. Ware remained highly effective in 2015, notching 7.5 sacks in 11 games. He terrorized Cam Newton in Super Bowl 50, tallying 2.5 more quarterback takedowns.
