Red Sox catching prospect Blake Swihart went 2-for-4 with a home run for Double-A Portland on Monday.

Swihart has been hot in July, hitting .338/.390/.554 to raise his season line to .306/.358/.498 with 21 doubles, three triples, and 12 home runs. Swihart should make his major league debut in 2015, and has the potential to hit .290 with 10-15 home runs.

Angels third base prospect Kaleb Cowart went 3-for-4 with a triple for Double-A Arkansas on Monday, raising his season line to .229/.301/.329.

After a breakout in 2012, Cowart has struggled to get his OPS above 650 while in his second season in Double-A. Cowart has more stolen bases and increased his walk rate, but he still isn't hitting for a good average or power, and the likelihood that he will reach the major leagues is decreasing.

Phillies prospect third baseman Maikel Franco went 4-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

After hitting .162/.196/.238 in June, Franco has shown signs of life in July, hitting .352/.370/.602 with nine doubles, two triples, and three home runs in 22 games. Prior to the season, Franco was supposed to be a mid-season call-up, but his .241/.290/.382 season line has kept him firmly planted in Triple-A. The 21-year old's struggles could be good for him long term, as he will need the ability to focus on deficiencies and tendencies in order to succeed in the major leagues.

Cubs prospect shortstop Addison Russell went 4-for-6 with a double for Double-A Tennessee on Monday, raising his line to .303/.338/.579.

Russell has hits in each of his last five games, hitting .480/.480/.920 with two doubles and three home runs. He has the potential to hit .300 with 15-20 home runs and 15-20 stolen bases, which would make him a top 25 player in fantasy baseball. The Cubs have begun the process of moving Javier Baez to second base, and Russell could be in Chicago as soon as early-2015.

Cubs outfield prospect Albert Almora went 4-for-6 with a double for Double-A Tennessee on Monday.

Almora was 1-for-19 through his first four games in the Southern League, but he broke out in a big way. After a slow start to the season, Almora was hitting everything prior to his promotion from High-A Daytona. He has the potential to hit .300, but it would be nice to see improved pitch selectivity going forward.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the asking price for Rays left-hander David Price is going up.

As a result, it's very likely that the Rays -- who have also won 10 out of 11 to move back into playoff contention -- will keep Price rather than move him before Thursday. "I believe so," said one person familiar with the team's thinking. "Simply put, it will take more than it would have a few weeks back." Heyman was told by rival GM that Price will either be "sold at 200 percent markup or not moved."

Astros right-handed pitching prospect Michael Foltynewicz struck out 10 over six innings for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday.

Foltynewicz also allowed three hits (all singles), five walks, and two hit batsman. He has struggled since the middle of June, as opposing batters have hit .316/.418/.513 against him, good for a 1.860 WHIP. Foltynewicz's primary out pitch is his mid-90s fastball that touches triple digits, but his below-average command and lack of a second pitch that is average will likely turn him into a 7th or 8th inning option.

C.J. Wilson (ankle) allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings Monday in a minor league rehab start with Double-A Arkansas.

Wilson threw 81 pitches and gave up four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. The southpaw has been sidelined all month with a right ankle sprain, but he should be cleared to rejoin the Angels' rotation this weekend.
