NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports DeMarco Murray is "going to play" Sunday with a wrap on his surgically repaired hand, but the Cowboys are "nervous" about using him in pass protection.

RapSheet writes to not be surprised if Murray and other Cowboys starters rest next week if Dallas locks up a playoff spot today. On Sunday, we expect to see Lance Dunbar handle a few more snaps than usual in pass-pro situations. The Cowboys may also give Joseph Randle a heavier dose of change-up work. Murray is still a top-ten fantasy running back play against the Colts' leaky defense.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) will try to play Week 16 against the Cowboys but is a "longshot."

Look for Hilton to test out his gimpy hammy in warmups, but we're not expecting Hilton to suit up for the 4:25 PM ET kickoff -- especially with the Colts having little to play for. Owners needs to have other plans in place. If Hilton ultimately doesn't play, Donte Moncrief will see an expanded role in two- and three-wide sets next to Reggie Wayne and Hakeem Nicks. Moncrief is the preferred plug-n-play as he has the freshest legs and has been out-snapping Nicks badly over the last few weeks.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Falcons plan to fire coach Mike Smith after the season.

La Canfora adds that "it would take a shocking playoff run to alter that scenario." This doesn't come as a surprise. Smith has been on the job for seven seasons now, but the team has taken a few steps back the past couple years. The Falcons are said to be looking at Broncos OC Adam Gase, Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, and Stanford coach David Shaw, among others, as replacements.

The Washington Post admits Robert Griffin III is "expected to return" to the Redskins in 2015.

Profootballtalk reports RGIII's job status for 2015 was never in danger despite all of the reports that stated otherwise in recent weeks. Hmm. What a difference a win does for morale. RGIII looked like his vintage self in a Saturday afternoon win over the Eagles, and all of the sudden things are peachy in D.C. RGIII has an opportunity to finish the season on a high note against the Cowboys in Week 17.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports the Falcons are "optimistic" Julio Jones (hip) will play Week 16 against the Saints.

Although he didn't practice at all this week, Jones ran off to the side each day and participated in Saturday's walkthrough. His final hurdle will be a pregame workout ahead of the 1 PM ET kickoff. This is the most important game of the season for the Falcons. There's plenty of risk that Julio could only be used as a decoy, but he'd be extremely tough to sit if he's active. We'll know soon.

Malcom Floyd caught 4-of-10 targets for 50 yards and a touchdown Week 16 against the 49ers.

Floyd saw more targets with Keenan Allen (ankle, collarbone) sidelined, but the overall result was the same. Primarily a deep threat, Floyd has not caught more than five passes in a game this season and has surpassed 90 yards receiving twice. Floyd is a touchdown-dependent WR4 for fantasy.
Dec 21 - 1:04 AM

Dontrelle Inman caught 7-of-9 targets for 79 yards Week 16 against the 49ers.

Substituted in for an ineffective Seyi Ajirotutu at halftime, Inman made his presence known early and often in the second half. He seemed to get open at will against the 49ers' secondary, and showed strong hands on several contested catches across the middle including a 4th-down conversion on the game-tying drive. A former CFL star, the 25-year-old Inman is a good bet to carve out a role in 2015 in the Chargers' nondescript receiver corps. He is an excellent add in Dynasty formats.
Dec 21 - 1:00 AM

Antonio Gates caught 7-of-9 targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns Week 16 against the 49ers.

Gates leaked out on a play action boot for a one-yard score in the third quarter and was inexplicably left wide open for a 21-yard score in the fourth. Gates is now one touchdown away from 100 total scores for his career, and he would match his highest single-season total with 13 if he can score next week against Kansas City. Gates will be a TE1 in that matchup.
