Travis d'Arnaud (finger) is set to resume his rehab assignment Thursday.

d'Arnaud was backed off his recovery after suffering a bone bruise in his right wrist, but it seems he's ready to resume. He had been rehabbing at the team's facility at Port St. Lucie, and the team said he'll join their High-A affiliate in St. Lucie upon resuming his rehab. He should be back with the Mets by the middle of the month assuming everything else goes well.

Masahiro Tanaka delivered seven innings of one-run ball as the Yankees finished off a three-game sweep of the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon in Seattle.

It was Tanaka's first outing since April 23 and he looked fantastic, yielding only three hits and walking none while striking out nine. He probably could have gone the distance, but it's easy to understand why manager Joe Girardi gave Tanaka the early hook at 78 pitches. Tanaka will try to keep it all working -- and keep his health intact -- next week at home against the Nationals.

Shin-Soo Choo has been playing with a sprained left pinkie finger.

Choo told reporters he injured the pinkie in the team's first day in Cleveland over a week ago, and Jeff Wilson of the Forth Worth Star-Telegram said the outfielder chose to play through the injury rather than have a pin inserted. He would miss a month if he had the procedure. If the injury happened recently he hasn't shown it, as he hit .295/.356/.533 in May and went 3-for-5 with a homer on Tuesday.

Garett Jones homered again Wednesday as the Yankees swept a three-game series in Seattle.

Jones launched a go-ahead three-run homer in the top of the 11th inning Tuesday and then went deep to break a 1-1 tie in the top of the fourth inning Wednesday. Jones could begin to muscle his way into more playing time, but this small stretch of clutch hitting doesn't suddenly give him relevance in standard fantasy leagues.
Jun 3 - 6:07 PM

Taijuan Walker went eight innings but yielded three earned runs Wednesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Walker pitched very efficiently, yielding only one walk and striking out seven over his eight strong frames, but Mark Teixeira tagged him for a solo shot in the second inning and Garrett Jones slugged a two-run blast in the fourth. Walker will carry a 2-6 record, 5.80 ERA, and 1.47 WHIP into his next start on the road against the Indians. He's shown some positive signs.
Jun 3 - 6:04 PM

Matt Moore (elbow) went 2 1/3 innings in his first rehab start Wednesday with High-A Charlotte.

Moore allowed two runs on two hits and three walks, though both of those runs were considered unearned. He struck out two, hurling 31 of his 52 pitches for strikes. The rehabbing 25-year-old left-hander will make at least four more rehab starts before becoming an option for the Rays' starting rotation. Look for Moore to debut in late June.

Michael Cuddyer is out of the Mets' starting lineup on Wednesday with stiffness in his neck.

Darrell Ceciliani will start in left field and and bat sixth Wednesday night against the Padres. Cuddyer is day-to-day for now. It doesn't sound like a major issue.

Reds released 1B/OF Donald Lutz.

Lutz underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in early May. He'll rehab as a free agent.
