Vikings signed WR Cayleb Jones, OT Dieugot Joseph, TE Cedrick Lang, DE Caushaud Lyons, DE Ifeadi Odenigbo, CB Horace Richardson and LB Antwione Williams to reserve/future contracts.

Jones spent all of 2017 on the Vikings' practice squad after failing to make the team out of training camp. His younger brother is Bills receiver Zay Jones.

Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph (foot) said he should be ready for the Combine.

Rudolph is sitting out the Senior Bowl because of a mid-foot sprain, but it should be healed up by early March. The quarterback did show up to the Senior Bowl for interviews and the weigh-in, coming in at 6-foot-4, 229 pounds with a 9 1/8 inch hand span. Rudolph is one of several quarterbacks who could come off the board in the first round.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Cardinals DC James Bettcher is scheduled to meet with the Giants and Titans about their defensive coordinator vacancies.

Bettcher has not been let go by the Cardinals, but it seems to be a fait accompli after Arizona hired Steve Wilks to be their new head coach. The coordinator since 2015, Bettcher has overseen quality defenses during his time in Arizona. He would be a good hire for either team.

Derek Carr said he wants new coach Jon Gruden "to be tough" on him.

Gruden has said he will "demand more" from his quarterback moving forward, and it sounds like Carr is fine with that. "I hope that he demands of me. I hope he’s hard on me," Carr said. "Let’s go fix problems that I have and let’s do what I need to do to win championships." Carr has plenty of problems to fix coming off a down season, but he has shown in the past he can be a quality quarterback. His willingness to accept criticism and work with Gruden is a good sign he will get back to that level again.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said C Pat Elflein needs surgery on his left ankle.

Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the injury is a fractured ankle. Tomasson reports the center could be ready for OTAs, but ankle injuries can be tricky. A third-round pick last year, Elflein struggled in 14 rookie starts.

ESPN's John Keim wrote "it's hard to see" S Su'a Cravens returning to the Redskins.

Cravens flirted with retirement last September before leaving the team and spending the season on the exempt/left squad list. Cravens' agent said the safety was suffering from post-concussion syndrome during that episode, but he has been medically cleared now and is "looking forward" to the 2018 season. Even so, Keim doubts Washington trusts Cravens enough to keep him around, and they have found a replacement in Montae Nicholson. A second-round picking in 2016, Cravens should draw interest if Washington puts him on the block.

Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones said Dez Bryant's behavior on the sidelines "can be a distraction."

In addition to his behavior, Jones questioned Bryant's fit with Dak Prescott and his place on the team. "The chemistry between Dak and Dez is different between Tony (Romo) and Dez. ... It hasn’t hit on all cylinders on how the connection works. It’s a work in progress," Jones said. "And we just have to really get our hands around, when you put all the full body of work together, where that's headed." Owed $12.5 million and coming off one of his least productive seasons, Dez was by no means a lock to return, but these comments make it seem like Dallas is seriously considering a divorce. Of course, Jones also might be trying to soften up Bryant before asking him to take a pay cut, an idea Dez shot down in December. Cutting Bryant would save the Cowboys $8.5 million against the cap but leave them with nothing resembling a No. 1 receiver.

Wyoming QB Josh Allen said he wants "to be the guy that turns around" the Browns.

"The guy that does that is going to be immortalized in Cleveland forever," Allen added. "If I’m fortunate enough to become a Cleveland Brown, you can expect everything from me." This is almost a subtweet of UCLA QB Josh Rosen, who said he would rather "be a lower pick" than play for the "wrong team." A scout reportedly told MMQB's Peter King there is "no way" the Browns pass on Allen, so it is possible the quarterback gets his wish.
