Twins activated OF Oswaldo Arcia from the 15-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.

Arcia had zero hits in 14 plate appearances on his minor league rehab assignment, so the Twins will ask him to work on his stroke a bit more on the farm. He should be up soon enough. Minnesota doesn't have enough productive bats to warrant keeping Arcia at Triple-A for long.

Trevor Rosenthal earned his 17th save of the season Wednesday in the Cardinals' 7-4 defeat of Milwaukee.

Mitch Harris entered the top of the ninth inning with St. Louis leading by four runs, but he gave up two singles so manager Mike Matheny turned it over to his flame-throwing stopper. Rosenthal did surrender an RBI single to Adam Lind, but he then induced a game-ending double play from Jonathan Lucroy. Rosenthal, 25, boasts a 1.08 ERA, 0.69 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts through 26 innings this season.

Pirates outfield prospect Willy Garcia left the yard twice Wednesday in a win for Double-A Altoona.

The 22-year-old has raised his batting average 27 points during his eight-game hitting streak (.276 to .303). It's encouraging to see Garcia find his power stroke. He launched 18 homers last season but had just one in his previous 41 games before Wednesday's explosion.

John Lackey held the Brewers to three runs over seven innings Wednesday in a Cardinals victory.

Lackey was staked to a five-run lead after the first inning and went into cruise control, scattering 10 hits and one walk over his seven frames. He struck out five. Lackey will carry a 4-3 record, 2.93 ERA, and 1.19 WHIP into his next start on the road against the Rockies. He has a strong 52/18 K/BB ratio in 70 2/3 innings.

Jimmy Nelson was lit up for seven runs -- six earned -- over five innings Wednesday in a loss to the Cardinals.

Nelson surrendered five runs to the host Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning and the Milwaukee offense couldn't recover from that deficit. The 25-year-old right-hander is now 2-6 with a 4.41 ERA in 67 1/3 innings (11 starts) this season. He's been shaky now in three straight outings.

Gerardo Parra finished 4-for-5 with a home run in the Brewers' loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday.

Parra hit a solo shot off John Lackey in the top of the third inning and added three singles, scoring two runs and boosting his season batting line to .282/.311/.451. Parra is going to play regularly while Khris Davis recovers from knee surgery and deserves consideration in deep mixed fantasy leagues.

Rockies pitching Antonio Senzatela allowed two hits in 5 2/3 shutout innings Tuesday in a win for High-A Modesto.

He struck out nine batters, two off his season-high. The 20-year-old continues to climb the California League leaderboard. He's second in innings pitched (62), second in WHIP (1.03), fourth in strikeouts (61) and fourth in ERA (2.32). A promotion could be in the right-hander's near future.

Eduardo Rodriguez was terrific again Wednesday, striking out seven across seven innings of one-run ball in a 6-3 win over the Twins.

Brian Dozier took Rodriguez deep in the third inning, but he yielded just one single otherwise and matched his 7/2 K/BB ratio from his major league debut last week. The left-hander has been hugely impressive in his first two outings, yielding just one run and five hits across 14 2/3 frames. He'll try to keep rolling the next time out in Baltimore.
