Manny Machado homered twice and doubled Thursday against the Tigers.

It's Machado's second multihomer game this month and the 16th of his career. He's batting .338 with a 1.037 OPS for an Orioles team that's just 5-14 so far. The trade rumors are going to start up again at some point.

Adam Jones delivered three doubles and knocked in two runs in Thursday's loss.

Believe it or not, it's the first time in his career that Jones had had three doubles in a game. He typically hasn't been a very big doubles guy. He did have 39 in 2012 and 35 in 2013, but those are his only two seasons over 30. In 2016, he had just 19 in 152 games. Coming into today, he had one in 18 games this year.

Chris Davis homered, walked twice and struck out twice against the Tigers on Thursday.

The homer was just Davis's second in 62 at-bats and 73 plate appearances this year. He's hitting .148, and he's scored a total of three runs. He can't help but get better than this, but he's looking more and more done as a particularly useful player in mixed leagues.

Eric Thames is not in the Brewers' lineup Thursday against the Marlins.

Apr 19 - 4:43 PM

Ryan Braun (calf) remains out of the Brewers' lineup Thursday against the Marlins.

This will be his second straight absence. Christian Yelich will get the nod in left field against his former team in Thursday night's series opener. Consider Braun day-to-day.
Apr 19 - 4:41 PM

Maikel Franco is not in the Phillies' lineup Thursday against the Pirates.

Instead, Scott Kingery is starting at third base and batting sixth against Bucs right-hander Jameson Taillon. Franco isn't hurt, so it appears he's just getting a breather. The 25-year-old leads the team with 17 RBI, though he's batting only .220 through 50 at-bats this year.
Apr 19 - 4:32 PM

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Josh Donaldson (shoulder) "felt great" after throwing on Thursday.

Donaldson is eligible to return from the disabled list this weekend, though Gibbons confirmed Thursday that he needs more time. The former MVP has been battling shoulder issues since spring training. Yangervis Solarte will continue to fill in at third base for Toronto.
Apr 19 - 4:13 PM

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he expects Tommy Kahnle (shoulder) to miss about three weeks.

Kahnle was placed on the disabled list Tuesday due to tendinitis in his right shoulder and biceps. He'll be in no-throw mode for 10 days before attempting to ramp things back up. The 28-year-old right-hander had struggled to a 6.14 ERA and 9/8 K/BB ratio through 7 1/3 innings this season while showing diminished zip on his fastball.
