Shane Vereen is expected to draw the start with Rashad Jennings (thumb) sidelined for Week 3 against the Redskins.

Vereen has rarely been used in a feature role throughout his career, mostly settling for passing-down work and change-of-pace duties. However, Vereen is one of only three Giants backs to receive carries this year (the others are Jennings and Orleans Darkwa) and should be close to an every-down player on Sunday. Vereen turned 17 touches into 66 yards with Jennings banged up last week and should be a strong RB2 play in PPR formats against Washington.

The Bills will be without No. 2 CB Ronald Darby (hamstring) Sunday versus Arizona.

Darby is one of the best young corners in the league. His absence will force the Bills to lean more heavily on slot CB Nickell Robey-Coleman and sixth-round rookie Kevon Seymour opposite Stephon Gilmore. It's a huge concern versus Carson Palmer. Darby couldn't get his hamstring right with a ten-day layoff, suggesting the injury may cost him more than one game.

Delanie Walker (hamstring, questionable) will warm up early to see if he can play against the Raiders in Week 3.

He's a true game-time decision. Walker missed two of the Titans' three practices this week including Friday's session. Even if Walker gets the green light, he might not play a full complement of snaps. Fifth-round rookie Tajae Sharpe would be in for an increased workload if Walker sits.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Josh McCown's (shoulder) timeline for return is 2-4 weeks.

Rather than a broken collarbone as previously reported, RapSheet calls the injury a "painful strain and hairline crack" in McCown's non-throwing shoulder. It sounds like McCown could return sooner than expected, which would be great news for suspended WR Josh Gordon's outlook. The Browns will likely struggle to generate much offense with third-rounder Cody Kessler running the show.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Cardinals DE Robert Nkemdiche (ankle) is expected to miss Week 3 against the Bills.

It's a mild surprise to see Nkemdiche inactive after practicing all week, albeit in a limited fashion. It looks like the Cards are targeting Week 4 against the Rams for his return. The Cardinals are going to be thin at defensive end this week with Nkemdiche sitting and Frostee Rucker (knee) listed as doubtful.

Jaguars C Brandon Linder (knee) is not expected to play in Week 3.

He got hurt on Wednesday. The Jaguars will also be without LT Kelvin Beachum (concussion). Jacksonville's offensive line completely failed to open run-game holes in the first two weeks when their line was at full strength, so we wouldn't expect any improvement from the decimated group Sunday against the Ravens.
Sep 25 - 8:20 AM

The Jaguars are expected to be without CB Prince Amukamara (hamstring) for Week 3 against the Ravens.

It's a plus to Joe Flacco's matchup. Without Amukamara in Week 2, the Jags were utterly torched by Philip Rivers for four touchdown passes while ceding a mammoth game to Travis Benjamin and a long touchdown to Tyrell Williams.
Sep 25 - 8:19 AM

Lions RE Ziggy Ansah (ankle) is expected to miss Week 4 against the Bears.

He's already been ruled out for Sunday's game in Green Bay. Ansah left last week's game against the Titans with a high-ankle sprain and will now get a second opinion on his MRI. There's no timetable for his return.
