Blake Treinen blew his first true save chance as an Athletic when he allowed a game-tying solo home run to Kendrys Morales on Thursday.

Treinen came on with two down in the eighth and got the third out on one pitch. He came back out for the ninth and Morales took him deep to lead off the frame. The reliever pitched around a walk to get out of the frame, but the damage had already been done. Treinen hadn't allowed an earned run as an Athletic prior to Thursday and is probably the favorite for saves even after blowing his first save chance, although manager Bob Melvin was noncommittal after the game.

Steve Pearce smashed a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning of Thursday's win over the Athletics.

Liam Hendriks walked the bases loaded to bring Pearce up with two outs. He ran the count full and then left a fastball up and over the plate, and Pearce swatted it just inside the left field foul pole. It was Pearce's lone hit in five trips to the dish. The Blue Jays swept the four-game series.

Kendrys Morales clubbed a pair of solo home runs and scored three times in Thursday's victory over the Athletics.

Morales took Sean Manaea over the center field wall in the fifth inning and then led off the bottom of the ninth with a solo blast off of Blake Treinen to tie the game before Toronto won in the 10th. With three longballs over the last two days, Morales now has an even 20 home runs on the season. That puts him on pace for his second straight 30-homer campaign.

Josh Donaldson singled and smacked a solo homer in Thursday's win over the Athletics.

After the A's plated three runs in the top of the first inning, Donaldson got one back for the Jays in the bottom of the frame with a solo shot off of Sean Manaea. It was his first dinger in 15 games and just his second since mid-June, as Donaldson has struggled to hit for a ton of power in an injury-shortened season.

Matt Holliday is not in the Yankees' lineup Thursday against the Rays.

Brad Miller is not in the Rays' lineup Thursday against the Yankees.

It looks like he's just getting a breather. Trevor Plouffe will serve as the DH with Tim Beckham drawing the start at second base. Following a breakout 30-homer campaign in 2016, Miller has been a major disappointment this year, slashing just .202/.342/.330 with four homers over 188 at-bats.
