Jaguars DE Andre Branch has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

The Florida Times-Union's Ryan O'Halloran reports he will miss "significant time." Branch was expected to rotate with Chris Clemons at the LEO position. The Jaguars primarily want to use Clemons in passing situations, meaning Chris Smith could get snaps on run downs.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure said RB Devonta Freeman (hamstring) is unlikely to play in the third preseason game Saturday.

Freeman returned to practice last week, so it is a bit concerning he is not healthy enough to play. Rookie Tevin Coleman (hamstring) is expected to play. He could put distance between himself and Freeman in the running back competition with a strong showing.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco said RB Denard Robinson has a chance to open the season as the starter.

DiRocco has consistently questioned rookie T.J Yeldon's early-season workload this offseason, but this one seems unlikely. The Jaguars used Yeldon as a three-down back in his first preseason action with Robinson filling in as a change-of-pace option. Robinson has played well, but Yeldon has much more upside.

ESPN Giants reporter Dan Graziano believes free agent S Stevie Brown could return to New York.

Brown started eight games for the Giants last season before leaving to the Texans this offseason. New York tried to re-sign Brown before he bolted for Houston, and they may still be interested after losing four safeties to injury this preseason.

Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said "everything's in place" for WR Cody Latimer to "have a big year."

With Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders missing time during OTAs and training camp, Latimer has run with the starters for most of the offseason. He has reportedly made several big plays in practice, but he has yet to show that playmaking ability in the preseason. Latimer will struggle to make a consistent fantasy impact behind Sanders and Thomas, but he will be a hot commodity if either goes down.

ESPN's Ed Werder reports Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt has not decided if QB Marcus Mariota will play in the fourth preseason game.

Starters rarely play a significant role in the fourth preseason game, but the Titans may decide to get their rookie signal caller a couple more reps before the regular season. After a rocky start, Mariota has played well the last two weeks.

Patriots RB James White played just two snaps in the third preseason game.

White did not record a statistic. After opening the preseason as the favorite for the Patriots' third-down job, White appears to have fallen behind Brandon Bolden and Dion Lewis on the depth chart. White had a similar trajectory last offseason, dazzling in OTAs before disappearing when the pads came on. White could still earn a role in the offense, but he is running out of time.

ESPN's Dianna Marie Russini reports the Redskins plan to start Kirk Cousins in Week 1 against the Dolphins.

Russini made her bones as a D.C. reporter, so she is as plugged into the team as any national reporter. ESPN's Ed Werder reported GM Scot McCloughan is "determined to change team culture" and could decide to move on from Robert Griffin III. The mystifying situation surrounding Griffin's concussion may have given McCloughan a prime opportunity to cut ties. Cousins is the owner of a career 59-percent completion rate and has an 18:19 TD-to-INT ratio across 14 NFL appearances.
