Jrue Holiday hit just 3-of-12 shots and missed all six 3-point attempts for six points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal and two blocks in 35 minutes of Thursday's 129-99 blowout loss to the Rockets.

Holiday was dealing with a new lineup, featuring DeMarcus Cousins and was facing a stellar defensive unit in the Rockets. The minutes were there and it may just take him a few games to figure out how to use his newest big man going forward. We're not overly concerned about Holiday, who has been playing at a very high level, so let's see how the next one goes before panicking.

Anthony Davis hit 8-of-21 shots and 13-of-16 free throws for 29 points, nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 33 minutes of Thursday's 129-99 blowout loss to the Rockets.

Davis looked good in the debut of DeMarcus Cousins, but the Pelicans were run out of the gym tonight. It looks like Davis and Cousins are going to get along swimmingly, but the Pelicans will have to find a way to win with the two studs playing in the front court together.

Kevin Durant went to the locker room in the first half on Thursday.

He looked to hurt his left wrist on a fall and could be getting an X-ray. Durant was playing through it and it didn't look bad, but you can never be too sure on hand injuries. We should have an update shortly.
Feb 23 - 11:14 PM

DeMarcus Cousins hit 11-of-19 shots and a 3-pointer on his way to 27 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, five steals and four blocks in 35 minutes of his Pelicans' debut on Thursday.

The bad news is that the Pelicans lost 129-99 and a lot of the starters sat out down the stretch in garbage time. Boogie was a beast tonight, and even avoided a technical foul despite getting tangled up with Nene occasionally. Anthony Davis was also impressive, but the rest of the Pels were a mess. But as of now, it looks like Boogie and the Brow are not going to do too much damage to each others stats.

Lou Williams came off the bench on Thursday in his Rockets debut and shot it at will, hitting 9-of-16 of them and seven 3-pointers for a team-high 27 points and two assists.

He scored 15 points in the fourth quarter of a 129-99 blowout win, so while it was a fantastic start for his career as a Rocket, it feels pretty fluky. And considering James Harden only scored 13, Trevor Ariza scored nine, and Patrick Beverley had just two points, Williams should have a tough time doing this again. Feel free to take a flier on Williams and hold onto him if you still own him, but we'll have a more realistic feel for his value going forward after a few more Rockets games.
Feb 23 - 11:08 PM

Clint Capela came off the bench for matchup purposes on Thursday and had 15 points, eight boards and three blocks in just 19 minutes.

He'll be back in the starting lineup soon and hit 7-of-8 shots tonight. The Rockets didn't want him starting the night guarding DeMarcus Cousins and the Rockets won the game in a 129-99 blowout. Capela should be back in the starting lineup (over Nene) for their next one.
Feb 23 - 11:05 PM

James Harden hit just 3-of-9 shots and 1-of-6 3-pointers for 13 points, 14 assists and three steals in 30 minutes of Thursday's 129-99 blowout win over the Pelicans.

Lou Williams went crazy in his Rockets debut with 27 points off the bench, but keep in mind the score was very lopsided and Harden's not going to stand by idly while Williams steals his shots. Sure, it's an auspicious start for the Harden in the Lou-Will era, but we're not concerned about Harden's short-term future.
Feb 23 - 11:01 PM

Patrick Beverley played through his groin injury and hit just 1-of-3 shots for two points, but also had 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals in 30 minutes.

Beverley played just 13 minutes last Wednesday before the All-Star break, but the injury wasn't serious and he managed to return without missing a game. And despite the lack of scoring, thanks in part to Lou Williams scoring 27 in his Rockets' debut, Beverley still filled the stat sheet. Williams is going to hurt him a little, but as long as Beverley is starting for the Rockets, he should continue to offer some fantasy value.
