Yankees optioned OF Clint Frazier to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

The Yankees sent down Frazier while calling up Giovanny Gallegos as an extra bullpen arm. Frazier is talented enough to play regularly in the majors, but there's just not a spot for him right now.

Yankees recalled C Kyle Higashioka from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

He'll serve as Austin Romine's backup with Gary Sanchez (groin) hitting the disabled list. Higashioka is batting just .191/.265/.328 with five homers and 22 RBI over 51 games in Triple-A this season. He's unlikely to be fantasy relevant.

Brandon Nimmo is considered day-to-day after an MRI came back negative on his right pinkie finger.

Great news for a team (and a fanbase) which could really use it. Matt Ehalt of the Bergen Record previously reported that Nimmo "avoided a significant injury," but now we have some specifics on the situation. The expectation is that he'll return to the lineup as soon as he's able to grip a bat without discomfort.
Jun 25 - 3:24 PM

Yankees placed C Gary Sanchez on the 10-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

The move is now official, though the exact timetable isn't yet known. Sanchez was scheduled for an MRI on Monday, so the Yankees should pass along more information soon. Kyle Higashioka has been called up, but Austin Romine should see most of the catching duties for now.
Jun 25 - 3:22 PM

Jake Faria (oblique) threw a bullpen session Monday.

Faria has now missed over a month with a left oblique strain, but he's beginning to ramp things up. Still, the Rays shifted him to the 60-day disabled list, so he's not eligible to return until late July.
Jun 25 - 3:18 PM

Todd Frazier is not in Monday's lineup against the Pirates.

Frazier has scuffled since coming off the DL, so he's presumably getting a day to clear his head. Luis Guillorme will cover third base duties.
Jun 25 - 3:15 PM

Rays recalled RHP Austin Pruitt from Triple-A Durham.

He'll replace the injured Jonny Venters (hamstring) on the active roster. Pruitt has posted a 4.24 ERA and 30/10 K/BB ratio over 51 innings in a long relief role this season.
Jun 25 - 3:12 PM

Orioles activated INF Tim Beckham from the 60-day disabled list.

Beckham missed two months following core muscle surgery. He'll make his return in Monday's game against the Mariners, batting eighth and playing third base. He was batting just .179/.247/.262 over his first 23 games prior to the injury.
