Dexter Fowler (heel) was scheduled to visit with a podiatrist on Monday.

The results of the visit aren't clear at the moment. Fowler was placed on the disabled list Sunday with a right heel spur that he says has bothered him "off and on forever." Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said Sunday that the injury "doesn't sound too concerning," but he added that "it does sound like it could be chronic." The Cards could offer more Tuesday as to a possible timetable for Fowler.

Cubs acquired RHP Matt Carasiti from the Rockies in exchange for LHP Zac Rosscup.

It's an exchange of marginal relievers. Carasiti, 25, posted a 9.19 ERA over 19 relief appearances last season with the Rockies but has been dominant the last two years in the minors, this year holding a 2.37 ERA and 43/13 K/BB ratio over 30 1/3 frames at the Triple-A level.

Rockies acquired LHP Zac Rosscup from the Cubs in exchange for RHP Matt Carasiti.

Rosscup has been up and down from the majors and minors the last few seasons, ultimately posting a 5.32 ERA with a whopping 32 walks over 47 1/3 relief innings. He has struck out 57, though, and boasts big strikeout numbers in the minors, too. Rosscup gives the Rockies some left-handed relief depth.

Starlin Castro left Monday's game versus the White Sox with a strained right hamstring.

Castro tweaked the hammy while trying to beat out a grounder in the third inning. It looked to be a likely disabled list kind of injury, but the Yankees should offer more on the second baseman's status after the game.

Starlin Castro departed Monday's game against the White Sox in the third inning with an apparent leg injury.

Castro pulled up lame while trying to beat out a grounder and was lifted after walking off gingerly. It looked like something that could require a disabled list stint, but the Yankees should have an update later Monday. Castro has also been battling a wrist issue of late.

Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is back in the Dodgers' lineup Monday.

Puig sat out Sunday with a nagging hamstring issue, but it's not seen as a big deal and he's back in there a day later. He's in right field and batting seventh against Ricky Nolasco and the Angels.

Royals transferred RHP Nate Karns from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

He's now not eligible to return until late July. Karns recently resumed throwing as he works his way back from an elbow injury.

Royals activated LHP Brian Flynn from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Omaha.

Flynn has recovered from his fractured vertebrae but will continue to work on things in the minors. He's posted a 10.95 ERA in nine relief appearances for Omaha.
