White Sox recalled RHP Erik Johnson from Triple-A Charlotte.

Johnson will start Thursday against the Red Sox in place of veteran left-hander John Danks, who was pushed off Chicago's 40-man roster earlier this week. Johnson holds a rough 4.17 ERA, 1.55 WHIP, and 6.9 K/9 in 86 1/3 career major league innings and probably won't be worth a fantasy stream at any point.

White Sox recalled RHP Tommy Kahnle from Triple-A Charlotte.

Kahnle will give the White Sox bullpen depth while Jake Petricka recovers from a hip injury. Kahnle made one scoreless appearance for Chicago earlier this season. He has a 2.45 ERA in 11 innings this year at Triple-A.
May 5 - 3:26 PM

White Sox placed RHP Jake Petricka on the 15-day disabled list with a right hip injury.

It's not clear how long he might be out. Petricka owns a 4.50 ERA in nine appearances this season.

Domingo Santana (lat) is out again Thursday.

It's his third absence in Milwaukee's last four games. Santana is battling some mild soreness around his right lat and the Brewers don't want to risk it turning into something more. Alex Presley will get another start in right field Thursday versus the Reds.
May 5 - 3:11 PM

Jason Heyward (wrist) is out of the Cubs' starting lineup again on Thursday.

Heyward is still dealing with discomfort in his right wrist and hasn't played since Sunday, when he went 0-for-5 against the Braves. Kris Bryant is in right field and Tommy La Stella is at third base Thursday in the Cubs' big series opener against the Nationals.
May 5 - 3:06 PM

Matt Adams has been diagnosed with a knee contusion.

Adams suffered the bruise Thursday in an awkward collision at first base with the Phillies' Darin Ruf. The big left-handed swinger is considered day-to-day for now. Brandon Moss moved from left field to first base and Jeremy Hazelbaker took over in left.

Matt Adams was pulled from Thursday's game against the Phillies with an apparent injury.

Adams got tangled up with Darin Ruf at first base as Ruf was trying to beat out an infield single. That's two big bodies colliding, and they were both walking gingerly after the play. There should be an update from the Cardinals' medical staff shortly.
May 5 - 2:58 PM

Cubs recalled RHP Spencer Patton from Triple-A Iowa.

Patton will give the Cubs a fresh bullpen arm while Neil Ramirez mourns a death in his family. Patton had struck out 17 batters over 10 scoreless innings this season at Iowa. He could stick around after Ramirez returns.
