Indians optioned RHP Shawn Armstrong to Triple-A Columbus.

Armstrong has already been up and down a few times this season. The 26-year-old has compiled a 5.02 ERA and 14/6 K/BB ratio over 14 1/3 innings along the way.

Indians optioned OF Daniel Robertson to Triple-A Columbus.

He'll head back down to the minors with Michael Brantley and Brandon Guyer coming off the disabled list. Robertson has appeared in 32 games with the Indians while batting .225/.287/.338 with one homer and seven RBI.

Indians activated OF Brandon Guyer from the 10-day disabled list.

Guyer, out since mid-May with a left wrist sprain, went 4-for-20 (.267) with a homer and four hit-by-pitches over six rehab games with Triple-A Columbus. The 31-year-old was batting just .182/.237/.291 over 60 plate appearances prior to hitting the DL.

Indians activated OF Michael Brantley from the 10-day disabled list.

Brantley was able to return from his right ankle sprain as soon as he was eligible. The 30-year-old returns to a .296/.360/.432 batting line with five homers and seven steals through 54 games this season.

Bryan Morris has elected to become a free agent.

Morris cleared waivers after being designated for assignment on Friday. The 30-year-old has struggled with a 6.43 ERA and 15/11 K/BB ratio over 21 innings this season and will attempt to latch on elsewhere.

Nationals prospect Victor Robles went 2-for-5 with a triple on Sunday for High-A Potomac.

The triple is the sixth of the season for Robles. With his ability to put the ball into the gaps and his plus-plus speed, it's no surprise that Robles ranks among the league leaders in the category. There's more power coming, but even if Robles ends up being only a 12 to 15 homer player, he's going to have a high slugging percentage because of that speed. Robles continues to look like the real deal.

Cubs prospect Dylan Cease didn't allow a run in his four innings of work for Low-A South Bend on Sunday.

Cease didn't allow a hit in those four innings, and he walked just two while striking out five. The Cubs are takings things very slowly with Cease, but he's missing bats at an elite level (65 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings) and throwing enough strikes to make his stuff relevant. There's still a very good chance he ends up pitching in relief, but there's at least a chance he ends up a starter, and a very good one at that.

Phillies prospect Scott Kingery went 3-for-4 on Sunday for Double-A Reading.

This was Kingery's final game in Double-A, and it was a nice way to end his time there. He'll likely miss the friendly confines of Reading and the Eastern League, but he's certainly talented enough to believe he'll handle Triple-A well. If things go as well in the International League, he could earn a call-up before the end of the year. Either way, he's one of the best second base prospects in baseball.
