Nori Aoki hit his first home run of the season in Sunday's win over the Angels.

Aoki stepped into the batter's box against Jered Weaver to open the bottom of the first inning. He promptly homered. It was Aoki's first tater of the season and the 20th of his career. Aoki's not much of a slugger, clearly, but he's played well in his first month as a Giant, with a .307/.391/.406 line over 101 at-bats. Aoki's also stolen seven bases and scored 12 runs.

Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.

His stay in the Blue Jays bullpen was extremely short-lived, serving as an extra arm for just a couple of days. He'll continue to provide organizational bullpen depth and should get another chance with the big league club later in the year.

Jays optioned RHP Miguel Castro to Triple-A Bufalo.

Castro started the season off with a bang when he usurped the closer's role from Brett Cecil, but has struggled mightily of late. He'll look to improve his command and get back on track in the minors before rejoining the Blue Jays bullpen later in the season.

Mike Trout did not record a hit in Sunday's loss to the Giants.

The 0-for-4 snapped a little four-game hitting streak that Trout had working. The Angels, as a team, had just three singles. With the 0-for-4, Trout's now hitting .318/.425/.591. He's homered six times, driven in 15, scored 22 runs and doesn't turn 24 until August.

Coco Crisp (elbow) went 1-for-3 with a walk in his minor league rehab game with High-A Stockton on Sunday.

He'll play with them again on Monday before being re-evaluated and remains on track to rejoin the Athletics at some point next week.

Jered Weaver allowed five runs in five innings during Sunday's loss to the Giants.

Weaver served up back-to-back home runs to Joe Panik and Nori Aoki to start the game. It didn't get much better after that. The Giants racked up 10 hits against the right-hander in his five innings and cruised behind a throwback performance from Tim Lincecum. Weaver struck out just two batters and is averaging what would be a career-low of 4.0 K/9. With diminished stuff, Weaver's numbers are looking pretty bad this season. He's the unfortunate owner of a 6.49 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 15/5 K/BB over 34 1/3 innings. Of those 15 strikeouts, five came in an early April start. Weaver has a home date with the molten-hot Astros in his next start.

Yasmani Grandal blasted a walkoff home run leading off the 13th inning on Sunday, propelling the Dodgers to a 1-0 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Grandal entered the game as a pinch-hitter when he drew a walk for A.J. Ellis in the tenth inning. His only official at-bat in the contest was his game-winning blast off Evan Marshall in the 13th inning. He's now hitting .230/.356/.377 with two homers and three RBI on the season.
May 3 - 8:18 PM

Brett Anderson hurled six shutout frames in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

The veteran southpaw punched out four on the afternoon while allowing only five hits and walking none. He went toe-to-toe with Chase Anderson who flipped up zeroes on the other side of the scoreboard though, and neither hurler came away with a decision. Locked into an injury-ravaged Dodgers rotation, Anderson sports a 4.21 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 15/4 K/BB ratio over 25 2/3 innings. He'll draw a tough assignment next time out, taking on the Rockies at Coors Field on Friday.
