Twins placed LHP Tommy Milone on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to August 1, with a mild left flexor strain.
Milone began feeling soreness after Friday's outing. That the Twins are calling the soreness mild is good news, but it's unclear how long the left-hander might be sidelined. Tyler Duffey will take Milone's spot in the rotation.
Mookie Betts (concussion) is feeling much better and could resume baseball activities next weekend.
Betts was placed on the concussion DL on Wednesday, but Red Sox manager John Farrell said the outfielder's "headache disappeared... no dizziness." It sounds like he should be ready for activated not long after he's eligible.
Red Sox placed RHP Rick Porcello on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 30, with right triceps inflammation.
Porcello began feeling soreness a day after he was ripped for six runs -- five earned -- and 10 hits in two-plus innings on Wednesday versus the White Sox. The Red Sox don't think it's a long-term issue, so he should rejoin the rotation later this month. Brian Johnson and Henry Owens are options to take his spot in the rotation.
Cory Spangenberg (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A San Antonio on Monday.
It's unclear how many rehab games he'll need. Spangenberg has been out since late June with a bruised left knee.
Yankees placed RHP Diego Moreno on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to see if there's anything wrong structurally. Moreno was tagged for four runs over three relief innings on Saturday.
Cubs recalled LHP Clayton Richard from Triple-A Iowa.
He'll make a spot start Sunday before Dan Haren joins the rotation later this week. Richard holds a 5.40 ERA over 15 innings with the Cubs.
Cubs designated C Taylor Teagarden for assignment.
The Cubs carried three catchers for a while, but it was inevitable that Teagarden would eventually be shown the door. He had three hits in 15 at-bats with the big club.
Andrelton Simmons has been diagnosed with a sprained right thumb.
Simmons was injured on Saturday when he jammed the thumb on a play in left field. It looks like he'll avoid the disabled list for now, as the Braves are hopeful he'll only miss a few games. Daniel Castro is filling in at shortstop Sunday.
