Cardinals re-signed ILB Desmond Bishop.

Bishop spent three weeks on Arizona's roster this summer, but was released ahead of Week 1. At 30 years old and coming off injuries the past couple seasons, Bishop is merely a replacement-level talent. He'll chip in on teams.

Coach Chip Kelly said Jordan Matthews will remain in the slot-role only, leaving Riley Cooper as the outside receiver opposite Jeremy Maclin.

Kelly said Cooper is playing well, though he's dropped a few passes and is averaging less than four catches and 31 yards per week with no scores. Matthews will continue to play between Maclin and Cooper because Kelly "wants that big, physical" slot presence. The rookie will see his 6-7 targets per game and remains a high-upside WR4. Owners will have to deal with inconsistency.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt said Bishop Sankey will likely get more reps than he has all season against the Browns this week.

"You will see (more reps for Sankey). That's coming," Whisenhunt said. "And I think you'll see more of that earlier in the game this week." Sankey has actually led the Titans' running backs in snaps the past two weeks with 22 and 29, respectively, but they've been coming in the second half when the Titans have been getting plastered on the scoreboard. Whisenhunt is finally realizing Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster aren't good. Sankey has managed 127 yards and one touchdown on 19 touches the past two weeks. Cleveland has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Sankey has RB2 upside.

Tony Romo (back) will not practice Wednesday.

Why mess with what's working? Romo has sat out the last two Wednesdays, and he's posted passer ratings of 116.8 and 137.4 the past two weeks with the Cowboys 2-0. He'll be back on the field Thursday. Romo is a low-end QB1.

Packers TEs coach Jerry Fontenot confirmed Brandon Bostick doesn't have a full grasp of the offense, which is why he isn't playing on Sundays.

"I need to feel more comfortable with the things we're doing in practice," Fontenot said. "I need to see that he's making split-second decisions, the right decisions. We're still getting there." Fontenot said if Bostick could run all of his snaps out of the slot as a pass-catcher, then he'd be playing. But the offense calls for tight ends to do more, like block, play in-line, line up at fullback and out wide. Bostick doesn't have it down. He remains a Dynasty hold, but nothing else.

Coach Ron Rivera is hopeful Jonathan Stewart (knee) can play Week 5 against the Bears.

Stewart practiced on a limited basis last Friday before missing Sunday's loss to the Ravens. With DeAngelo Williams' ankle in a cast and out this week, the Panthers will hope Stewart can give it a go, even at less than 100 percent. If Stewart can play, it's a plus matchup, though we wouldn't expect him to carry a full load. Darrin Reaves, Fozzy Whittaker, and Chris Ogbonnaya round out the depth chart.

Texans released RB Ronnie Brown.

Brown, 32, appeared in two games for the Texans, rushing six times for four yards and catching one pass for five yards. Houston will move forward with Alfred Blue and Jonathan Grimes behind Arian Foster. Former No. 2 overall pick Brown's career is very likely over. He's just a veteran presence at this stage.

DeAngelo Williams' ankle is in a hard cast.

This after he had the injured ankle in a walking boot earlier this week. It suggests Williams will certainly miss an extended period of time after he revealed to fans on Monday that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain. Darrin Reaves, Fozzy Whittaker, and Chris Ogbonnaya are expected to handle backfield duties Week 5.
