Report: Jets, Eagles agree on Sheppard trade
The Jets and Eagles have agreed to a trade that will send a 2009 fifth-round pick and a 2010 conditional pick to the Eagles for CB Lito Sheppard.
The 2010 pick could be anywhere between a second and fourth-round pick, presumably depending on Sheppard's playing time. The price is too big for our tastes, but Sheppard would fill a big void opposite Darrelle Revis. We give the Eagles a lot of credit for holding on to Sheppard last year and getting this excellent value. Feb. 27 - 8:52 pm et
Steve Slaton regains starting job for Texans
Slaton
Steve Slaton will start for the Texans against the Titans on Monday night.
We thought that Slaton would have to prove he can hold on to the ball before getting his starting job back, but coach Gary Kubiak is apparently convinced. Slaton's role was due to grow anyway because he's clearly their best back, but this a great sign that he has his coach's confidence. Look for Slaton to still share carries with Chris Brown and Ryan Moats, but we like him as a solid flex play this week. Nov. 21 - 2:05 pm et

Reggie Bush will not play against Tampa Bay
Bush
Reggie Bush (knee) and Sedrick Ellis (MCL sprain) have been downgraded to "out" and will not travel with the team to Tampa.
The Saints want to avoid a setback with Bush's oft-surgically repaired knee. Against the Bucs, Pierre Thomas will carry the bulk of the load with Mike Bell coming in as a change-of-pace back and perhaps end-game "closer." Look for more receptions from Thomas. Anthony Hargrove will continue to play starter's snaps in Ellis' absence. Nov. 21 - 11:38 am et

Giants lose MLB Antonio Pierce indefinitely
Pierce
The Giants announced late Friday that MLB Antonio Pierce will be out indefinitely after a bulging disc was discovered in Pierce's neck.
Pierce was "shocked" by the news. He practiced on Friday, but experienced discomfort afterwards and was hospitalized for tests. An MRI revealed the injury, which may threaten Pierce's season. His loss is a blow to a Giants run defense that has underachieved all year. Chase Blackburn will likely take over in the middle, with Michael Boley now healthy at weak-side linebacker.  Bush to remain Raiders' starter for Week 11
Bush
Coach Tom Cable revealed Friday that Michael Bush will be the Raiders' starting tailback in Week 11 against Cincinnati.
Bush started Week 10 and had 119 yards on 14 carries against the Chiefs, but now faces the Bengals' No. 2 rush defense. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy leagues. Justin Fargas got the goal-line carries last Sunday and Darren McFadden's role figures to grow on a weekly basis as he continues to recover from in-season knee surgery. Bush is only a desperate flex play. Nov. 20 - 6:21 pm et

Buckhalter returns to full practice, probable
Buckhalter
Correll Buckhalter (probable, knee) returned to Broncos practice in full Friday.
The probable tag means the Broncos consider Buckhalter "virtually certain" to be available for his normal role in the offense. However, he saw just two touches last week to Knowshon Moreno's 20 after a first-quarter fumble and may be being weeded out of the offense. Coach Josh McDaniels has shown signs all year that he wants Moreno to take over the featured back role. Nov. 20 - 5:44 pm et
 Turner doubtful; Jerious Norwood questionable
Turner
Michael Turner (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Week 11 after missing his third straight practice Friday.
Even listing Turner as "doubtful" is generous; coach Mike Smith admits that he has no timetable for return. Turner is in danger of missing several weeks with a high ankle sprain. Jerious Norwood (hip) practiced Friday and is listed as questionable, but is unlikely to be a major threat to Jason Snelling's carries after sitting out for the last month. Snelling will start at the Giants. Nov. 20 - 3:22 pm et
Reid: Westbrook out at least next three weeks
Westbrook
Coach Andy Reid said Friday that Brian Westbrook (concussions) will miss at least the Eagles' next three games.
And he's not even a safe bet to return after that. Three weeks is the timetable concussion specialists set for Westbrook's next checkup, which may or may not involve medical clearance. LeSean McCoy has better shot at starting for the rest of the season than Westbrook does of returning in Week 14. Nov. 20 - 2:46 pm et

Report: Haynesworth unlikely to face Cowboys
Haynesworth
ESPN reports that Redskins DT Albert Haynesworth (ankle) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Cowboys.
The loss takes a massive chunk out of Washington's already sagging run defense, which has fallen to 24th in the NFL. Haynesworth (6'6/350) will be replaced by Kedric Golston (6'4/300). Overlook Marion Barber's eight-touch Week 10 and use him against the Skins. Dallas' coaching staff has made it clear this week that they'll refocus on the ground game going forward. Nov. 20 - 2:08 pm et
Orton misses practice, listed as questionable
Orton
Kyle Orton (ankle) was held out of practice for a third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 11.
While missing practice all week is a bad sign, coach Josh McDaniels said that Orton "absolutely" still has a chance to start against San Diego. Orton will be worked out in pre-game warmups before his status for the game is determined. The Broncos and Chargers don't play until 4:15ET, so Orton is an obvious "sit" in standard leagues. Chris Simms will start if Orton can't. Nov. 20 - 1:21 pm et
