Tom Kessenich examines the growing role of PPR scoring in fantasy leagues and how that’s impacting drafts.

 Malcolm Kelly-WR-RedskinsJul. 25 - 2:57 am et
Rookie Malcolm Kelly was well ahead of fellow first-year wideout Devin Thomas before Thomas pulled his hamstring in Thursday's practice.
"The first couple of days, Malcolm made some plays," WRs coach Stan Hixon said. "Devin is still coming along." Kelly's soft hands and blocking (which he did lots of at run-first Oklahoma) have stood out. He's made several acrobatic grabs on bombs from Jason Campbell, indicating Kelly's seen quality action with the first team. He has a real chance to start at split end in Week 1.

 Justin Gage-WR-TitansJul. 25 - 2:26 am et
Titans coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that Justin Gage and Justin McCareins will open training camp as the team's starting wideouts.
No position battle here. For the third receiver spot, however, Biren Ealy will be pushed by rookie Lavelle Hawkins, Chris Davis, and maybe Mike or Paul Williams. Gage and McCareins are locked in and would have to practice their way out of the opening-day lineup for anyone else to have a shot.

 Roydell Williams-WR-TitansJul. 25 - 2:21 am et
Roydell Williams (ankle) is still not ready to practice.
Williams appears to be headed for camp/PUP, then potentially to the free agent wire if the Titans don't elect to keep him on a list into the season.

 Andre Johnson-WR-TexansJul. 25 - 2:02 am et
Andre Johnson declared himself "fit and ready to go" Thursday after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in mid-May.
He had nine weeks to recover from a scope that typically costs players about a month of time. "I was out here yesterday running routes full speed for Matt (Schaub)," Johnson said. "I feel real good. I haven’t had a problem." A.J. may only practice once daily during two-a-days, but the limitation would be precautionary. We see Johnson as the receiver with the best chance to unseat Randy Moss as the top fantasy producer at their position.

 Devin Hester-WR-BearsJul. 25 - 1:38 am et
Devin Hester and his agent know about the August 5 deadline for Hester to report or lose a credited year in the league but "aren't overly concerned," according to the Chicago Sun Times.
Hester's camp is banking on changes to the CBA before he's eligible for 2010 free agency, and assumes he'll get a new deal anyways before then. It's still a major risk. And Hester's holdout has already cost him $30,232.

 Tommy Kelly-DL-RaidersJul. 25 - 1:14 am et
Tommy Kelly admits he was "surprised" the Raiders gave him a $50.5 million contract this offseason.
As was everyone else, especially considering Kelly is coming off a torn ACL. Kelly is practicing once a day in training camp, but will be Oakland's starter at the "three technique" in Week 1. He's worth deep IDP league consideration.

 Tory Humphrey-TE-PackersJul. 25 - 1:08 am et
At the Packers' shareholders meeting Thursday, GM Ted Thompson specifically pointed out TE Tory Humphrey as a player to keep an eye on in camp.
He'd hardly discuss Favre, but he'd talk about Tory Humphrey alright. "A very talented player," Thompson said. "Many of you have not seen him. He’s very talented." Humphrey is battling Jermichael Finley to be Donald Lee's backup.
