 Lee Westwood-G- Golfer Nov. 20 - 11:10 am et

Lee Westwood is 9-under-par 66-69=135 through two rounds of the Dubai World Championship and will sleep on a two-stroke lead over 18-hole leader, Robert Allenby (65-72), Rory McIlroy (68-69) and four others.
Despite a T-54 in Hong Kong, where he regretted playing, there are few if any as zeroed in on their games right as Westwood. He finally returned to the winner's circle in Portugal last month, but his overall consistency at a high level makes him a favorite everywhere he tees it up. The winner of the Race to Dubai receives $1.5 million in bonus prize money on top of his paycheck at the Dubai World Championship.
 Robert Allenby-G- Golfer Nov. 19 - 10:14 am et

Robert Allenby shot a 7-under-par 65 in the opening round of the Dubai World Championship, good for a one-stroke lead over Lee Westwood, Camilo Villegas and Chris Wood.
Allenby buried eight birdies at the Greg Norman-designed Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in the United Arab Emirates. Thirty-three of the 58 entrants are under par through 18 holes. Notables not among that lot are Justin Rose (E), Miguel Angel Jimenez (E), Ross Fisher (+1), Luke Donald (+1), Ernie Els (+2) and Graeme McDowell (+4). Paul Casey (rib muscle) and Anthony Kim (fatigue) are the only two eligible not competing.
 Arron Oberholser-G- Golfer Nov. 18 - 10:01 pm et

According to a report in the San Jose Mercury News, Arron Oberholser is "healed" from the injuries that have sidelined him for the better part of two years.
After his cameo T-33 at the Frys.com Open, Oberholser still has 14 starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $349,854, terms well within reach if his body holds up. In preparation for 2010, he's continuing physical therapy three times a week and keeping his practice time to a minimum, but expect that to increase as the new season approaches. "I'm a fighter, not a quitter," Oberholser said. "When I want to have one, I can have a very nasty disposition, and that serves me well." As you know, AO can be a fantasy stud. Go ahead and bump him up your draft lists.
 Adam Scott-G- Golfer Nov. 18 - 6:21 pm et

It was announced today that the European Tour will table the idea of offering incentives to members to compete in select events.
Fourteen months ago, the Euro Tour increased its membership requirement from 11 to 12 starts. That will remain the minimum for the 2010 season, which begins in South Africa in three weeks. The Tour also opened up the conduit of Affiliate Membership for 2009, making it easy for non-Euro members to contend in the Race to Dubai, the final of which begins on Thursday. Adam Scott, for one, admitted that he might forego Euro Tour membership next year if the membership incentives were approved. He is likely reconsidering his decision.

 Fred Funk-G- Golfer Nov. 16 - 10:52 pm et

Fred Funk underwent knee replacement surgery in Jacksonville, Florida today.
This was more or less expected ever since he had complications from torn cartilege and a staph infection in 2008. By virtue of his victory at the 2005 PLAYERS, the 53-year-old remains fully exempt on the PGA Tour through 2010. He'll be able to start hitting balls again in about six weeks, and hopes to be back on the golf course in January.

 Doug Barron-G- Golfer Nov. 16 - 10:25 pm et

U.S. Magistrate Judge Tu Pham in Memphis ruled against Doug Barron's bid for a temporary restraining order against the PGA Tour's suspension due to failing a drug test in June.
Barron was awaiting the decision in Texas where he was planning on playing in the second stage of Q School. As a result, the suspension will carry into late 2010, which will prevent him from competing in the first stage of Q School next year. In essence, it's a two-year ban from membership unless he manages to win after sneaking into an event via Monday qualifying or a sponsor exemption in 2011. In hindsight, while this is how he makes his living, Barron will likely regret teeing it up in June while still weaning off the banned substance. According to Alex Miceli at Golfweek.com, Barron was completely off the Propranolol by the end of July. In response to the judge's decision tonight, the PGA Tour issed this brief statement: "We are pleased with the court’s decision and have no further comment at this time."
 Tom Watson-G- Golfer Nov. 16 - 10:41 am et

The R&A has revised its qualifying criteria for the British Open to allow all past champions a five-year exemption after finishing inside the top-10 at the event.
This directly influences the eligibility of 2009 British Open runner-up, Tom Watson, who turned 60 in September and was facing his final start in the major at St. Andrews in 2010 because of the age restriction. "We have introduced this exemption as a direct response to seeing two of our great Open Champions, both in their fifties, challenging to win our championship these last two years," explained Peter Dawson, Chief Executive of The R&A, also inferring Greg Norman's T-3 in 2008 at the age of 53.
 Paul Casey-G- Golfer Nov. 15 - 7:50 pm et

Paul Casey has earned invitations to the 2010 Masters and U.S. Open after finishing in 22nd place on the PGA Tour's Money List.
The other players earning invitations to both tournaments because of their top-30 finishes were: Matt Kuchar (24th), Ian Poulter (25th), John Rollins (28th) and Justin Leonard (30th). Rory Sabbatini (18th) and Tim Clark (29th) were already eligible for the Masters but now have an invitation to the U.S. Open after their top-30 finishes.
 George McNeill-G- Golfer Nov. 15 - 6:08 pm et

George McNeill carded a final round of 5-under-par 67 and finished in second place after a three-way playoff, with Justin Leonard and Stephen Ames, at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
McNeill got off to a hot start on the first five holes, with a 4-under-par score, but he parred the rest of the front nine, which was good for a share of the lead with Justin Leonard. On the back nine, McNeill took the lead with a birdie at the 10th hole, but then he coughed up the lead and fell back two strokes after back to back bogeys starting on the 11th hole. He was able to rally with consecutive birdies starting at the 13th hole and from there he parred in to earn a spot in a three-way playoff, with Leonard and Stephen Ames. It looked like McNeill was going to be the first man out, when he found the pine straw with his tee shot of the opening hole of the playoff, but he was able to scramble to make par and Leonard was the one that was eliminated after a three-putt bogey. Ames and McNeill moved on to the final hole of the playoff at the par-3 15th hole, but McNeill was eliminated when he three-putted from just off the green.
 Justin Leonard-G- Golfer Nov. 15 - 5:38 pm et

Justin Leonard posted a final round of 5-under-par 67 and finished in second place after a three-way playoff at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
On the front nine, Leonard and George McNeill were able to card 4-under-par scores, which left them on top of the leaderboard. On the back nine, a seven-foot birdie-putt at the 11th hole gave Leonard a two-stroke lead, however after that he posted seven pars in a row, which created a three-way playoff with McNeill and Stephen Ames for the championship. On the opening playoff hole Leonard found the putting surface, but from long distance. His first putt came some 15-feet short of the hole and his second putt, to continue in the playoff, also came up short. The playoff ended on the next hole, when Ames par won the championship after McNeill's par-putt to extend the match lipped-out. The P-2 finish is the sixth Top 10 for Leoanrd this season and it his best finish on the Tour since his playoff win at the 2008 Stanford St. Jude Championship.
 Stephen Ames-G- Golfer Nov. 15 - 5:07 pm et

Stephen Ames carded a final round of 8-under-par 64 and won on the second hole of a three-way playoff, with Justin Leonard and George McNeill, at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
Ames told the Golf Channel after his victory, "I thought last night if I shot a 64 today that I would have a good chance." He shot the round of 64 by going 3-under-par on the front nine and then carding five birdies in his last seven holes to reach 18-under-par for the tournament. He then waited as the final groups finished up and he found himself in a three-way playoff with Justin Leonard and George McNeill. On the first playoff hole, Ames and McNeill were able to par the 18th hole, but Justin Leonard was eliminated when he three-putted for a bogey. The final playoff hole was at the par-3 15th hole, Ames found the green and two-putted for par and he won the championship when McNeill had his 6-foot par-putt go in and out of the hole for a bogey. The championship is the fourth career title for Ames and it is the second time that he has won the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
 Tiger Woods-G- Golfer Nov. 15 - 1:26 am et

Tiger Woods carded a final round of 4-under-par 68 and won the JBWere Masters by two strokes over Greg Chalmers.
Woods commented to Fox Sports Australia after his round that, "You had to make some birdies early and I was able to do that." He opened with a birdie at the first hole and then put consecutive birdies on the card starting at the 5th hole. He made the turn with a two-stroke advantage and Woods did get the lead out to three shots after a birdie at the par-5 12th hole, but he gave it back on the next hole after a camera disturbed his swing. Woods added another birdie at the par-3 15th hole and his pursuers could never get closer than two strokes. The championship is the seventh title that Woods has won this year and he has become only the third American in history to win the Australian Masters Gold Jacket.
 Justin Rose-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 4:58 pm et

Justin Rose carded a third round of 3-under-par 69 and is in a four-way tie for the lead, with Justin Leonard, George McNeill and Mathias Gronberg, at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
Rose was pretty quiet on the front nine, where he played in even-par and was three strokes off the lead at the turn. On the back nine, he put four birdies on the card before the 17th hole, where a poor approach cost him a stroke. He then parred the last hole, but that was good for a share of the lead after playing partner George McNeill double-bogeyed the hole. On Sunday, Rose will be looking for first PGA Tour championship.
 George McNeill-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 4:46 pm et

George McNeill posted a third round of 3-under-par 69 and is in a four-way tie for the lead at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
McNeill opened the round with a bogey, but by the turn he was 1-under-par on the round and two strokes off the lead. On the back nine, he opened with an eagle that earned him a brief share of the lead and a second eagle at par-5 14th hole gave McNeill a two-stroke lead. The two-stroke advantage continued up to the final hole, where an errant tee shot caused a double-bogey, which dropped him into a four-way tie for the lead with Justin Leonard, Justin Rose and Mathias Gronberg. On Sunday, McNeill will be looking for his second career PGA Tour championship and his first since the 2007 Frys.com Open.
 Mathias Gronberg-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 4:29 pm et

Mathias Gronberg carded a third round of 6-under-par 66 and is a four-way tie for the lead, with Justin Rose, Justin Leonard and George McNeill, at the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
Gronberg made the turn at 1-under-par for the round, but then came alive on the back nine with five birdies and no blemishes. He started the week in 190th place on the PGA Tour's Money List, but the reason for that is the amount Gronberg played on the Nationwide Tour, where he earned his PGA Tour card for next year with his 24th place on the Nationwide Tour's Money List. It is possible for Gronberg to make the Top 125 on the PGA Tour's Money List with a solo second place, but he will be thinking on Sunday of winning his first PGA Tour title and the two year exemption that comes with the championship.
 Justin Leonard-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 4:15 pm et

Justin Leonard posted a third round of 1-under-par 71 and shares the lead with George McNeil, Justin Rose and Mathias Gronberg at the Children Miracle Network Classic.
Leonard opened with pair of birdies (2nd, 4th) and by the 5th hole it looked like he might run away with the title after opening up a five-stroke advantage on the field. A poor approach at the 6th hole cost him a stroke, and after pars on the next three holes, his lead had shrunk to two strokes by the turn. On the back nine, Leonard found himself in a tie for the lead after finding the water at the 11th hole and by the par-5 14th hole he was two strokes off the pace after playing partner George McNeill eagled the hole. Leonard did miss short puts at the final two holes, but he regained a share of the lead after McNeill double-bogeyed the final hole. On Sunday, Leonard will be looking for his 13th career PGA Tour title and his first since the 2008 Stanford St. Jude Championship.
 David Duval-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 1:47 pm et

David Duval, according to Tour Radio, will return to Q-School in an attempt to regain his full playing privileges for the 2010 season.
Duval started the week in 125th place on the PGA Tour's Money List, however he missed the final cut of the year at the Children's Miracle Network Classic and will fall out of the Top 125. Due to his ranking between 125th to 150th on the Money List, he will automatically qualify for the final round of Q-School.
 Paul Casey-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 12:57 pm et

Paul Casey has withdrawn from the Dubai World Championship, which will held November 19-22.
Casey was forced to withdraw from last week's WGC-HSBC Champions due to fears that he had injured the interior oblique muscle, which had caused him to miss most of the second half of the season. He went back to the Untied States to be evaluated and it was found that he had irritated the area, but hadn't torn the muscle. However, according to Casey on his Twitter page, his doctor has ordered him not to play in Dubai.
 Webb Simpson-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 12:27 pm et

Web Simpson withdrew on Saturday morning from the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
Simpson made the cut at 2-under-par, but he had to withdraw this morning due to an illness. He started the week in 67th place on the PGA Tour's Money List.
 Tiger Woods-G- Golfer Nov. 14 - 1:42 am et

Tiger Woods posted a third round of even-par 72 and is in a three-way tie for the lead with James Nitties and Greg Chalmers at the JBWere Masters.
Woods started the day with a three-stroke lead, but he never could get anything going on the round. After the round Woods described it as, "Just a bad day" and then he added, "It should have been worse than it was." Both Greg Chalmers and James Nitties carded third rounds of 3-under-par 69 to tie Woods for the lead. American Jason Dufner had a share of the lead after the 15th hole, but consecutive bogeys starting at the 16th hole dropped him two strokes off the pace.
