 Andrea Bargnani-F/C- Raptors Oct. 5 - 10:37 am et

The Toronto Raptors exercised the third year team option on the rookie scale contract of forward Andrea Bargnani Friday.
"Andrea has more than lived up to the enormous expectations thrust on him last season as the top pick of the draft," said Raptors president and general manager Bryan Colangelo."Exercising the option while in Andrea's hometown of Rome could not be more fitting."
 Antawn Jamison-F- Wizards Oct. 4 - 11:58 pm et

Wizards forward Antawn Jamison sat out training camp practice Thursday night after bruising his right shin during the morning session.
The team said Jamison's injury wasn't considered serious and listed him as day to day. We're not even going to put him on our injury report, unless it's revealed later that the injury is more serious than initially thought.
Joel Przybilla-C- Trail Blazers Oct. 4 - 10:57 pm et

With Greg Oden's season over before it started, Joel Przybilla could end up having some fantasy value.
It's likely that LaMarcus Aldridge and Channing Frye will start together, but Przybilla should get his share of minutes off the bench. We wouldn't draft him, but he's probably going to be worth owning at some point.
 Lamar Odom-F- Lakers Oct. 4 - 10:17 pm et

Lamar Odom is still recovering from shoulder surgery and has a sore right knee that may keep him out of the preseason and make him questionable for opening night.
In addition to the injuries, Odom said Thursday that he doesn't want to be traded and would like to finish out his two remaining years with the Lakers. "This is a business. If you worked for a law firm based in St. Louis, Missouri, and you loved St. Louis, and somebody said the firm was moving to Austin, Texas, you wouldn't want to go." Odom admits that he's been bothered by all the trade rumors, but seems to have a good attitude and outlook for the upcoming season. However, his injuries are definitely a concern to keep in mind on draft night.
 LeBron James-F- Cavaliers Oct. 4 - 9:36 pm et

LeBron James showed up at the Indians' home playoff game against New York wearing a Yankees hat on Thursday.
There are approximately 45,000 fans at the game who are probably not very happy with the move, along with countless fantasy hoops owners around the world. LeBron says he's always been a Yankees fan, but it would have been a much better PR move to leave the hat at home. Unless this is his planned first first step in assuring he ends up in New York or L.A. in a couple years.
 Delonte West-G- Cavaliers Oct. 4 - 8:33 pm et

Guard Delonte West followed his sprained right ankle Wednesday by having his left big toenail removed Thursday.
He watched scrimmage but shot free throws with a small boot on his left foot. Kurt Thomas, Robert Swift and Mickael Gelabale skipped the scrimmage with various ailments. All are sore, but their injuries appear to be minor. West should heal from his injuries quickly.
 Josh McRoberts-C- Pacers Oct. 4 - 6:03 pm et

Rookie center Josh McRoberts suffered a bad ankle sprain in Blazers' practice on Thursday.
The team says he'll miss about a week, but Jarrett Jack disagrees. "Pffft. He'll be out more than a week,'' Jack said. "His ankle is huge; it's the size of a basketball. One of the worst I have seen.'' McRoberts probably won't have fantasy value this season, but if Portland's stars keep falling (Greg Oden, Brandon Roy), he could.

 Delonte West-G- Cavaliers Oct. 4 - 5:11 pm et

Delonte West suffered a sprained ankle in practice.
He's day-to-day and should be fine for the start of the season. However, his role with his new team has yet to be determined.
 Jason Terry-G- Mavericks Oct. 4 - 4:53 pm et

Avery Johnson is suggesting that Jason Terry isn't locked into a starting job this season, but Jerry Stackhouse thinks he knows better.
"Y’all got to stop listening to Avery, man," Stack said. "It ain’t as open as you think. We’re not going to win a lot of games with Jason Terry sitting on the bench. He’s going to be there." Even if Terry somehow doesn't start, he's likely to get starter's minutes. But with Eddie Jones and Trenton Hassell now with the team, his playing time is a bit of a qustion mark. Just something to consider on draft day.
 Scot Pollard-C- Celtics Oct. 4 - 4:50 pm et

Scot Pollard has been sidelined for training camp with a sprained left ankle.
He did some light shooting and conditioning work yesterday and it's unknown when he'll be ready.
 Beno Udrih-G- Kings Oct. 4 - 4:42 pm et

Spurs back up point guard Beno Udrih broke his left finger in training camp on Thursday.
He'll wear a cast for a couple of weeks while his left index finger heals, and is expected to miss about a month with the injury. Jacque Vaughn is now Tony Parker's only backup until Udrih returns.
 Allan Houston-G- Knicks Oct. 4 - 4:38 pm et

After the Nets sign Darrell Armstrong, they're going to have a full roster, making it tough to sign shooting guard Allan Houston.
Houston is also talking to the Knicks, but their roster is in (surprise) worse shape than the Nets'. If the Nets want Houston, they're likely going to have to eat Mile Ilic's $850,000 contract. In New York, Houston would have to beat out Fred Jones, or the Knicks would have to eat Jerome James' massive contract. Houston is probably going to play in the NBA this year, but where is still a mystery. On a side note, his wife gave birth to a baby on Thursday.
Brandon Roy-G- Trail Blazers Oct. 4 - 4:24 pm et

Brandon Roy's troublesome heel will likely cause him to miss the entire preseason, although he says he wants to play.
"Right now, my thought is he won't play in the preseason," coach Nate McMillan said. "(The preseason schedule) is not important. What is important is that we have him for the season." No one from the Blazers is talking about surgery, but given the nature of the injury (irritation of the talus bone), we're getting the sense that may be the only way to take care of the problem. Despite all of this negativity, Roy, who hopes to practice on Friday, doesn't sound too concerned. "It already feels much better," he said. "I'm not too worried about it."

 Josh Smith-F- Hawks Oct. 4 - 4:09 pm et

Talks appear to be non-existent between the Hawks and young forwards Josh Smith and Josh Childress, who will become restricted free agents next year if nothing is done by Halloween.
They aren't the only ones, as Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Andre Iguodala and Al Jefferson have yet to be extended either. There are concerns about what kind of message is being sent by management in these situations, but we're guessing all six guys show up and have big years this season.
 Yi Jianlian-F/C- Nets Oct. 4 - 3:57 pm et

Yi Jianlian looked sluggish at his first Bucks' practice on Thursday, but it's probably due to the 15-hour flight he took from Shanghai to Milwaukee.
Yi also failed to answer questions about whether he was really 19 or 22, as that has been a popular topic of debate throughout his career. This is a big day for the Bucks, as there was a point when it looked like Yi may never step foot in the state of Wisconsin.
 Stephon Marbury-G- Celtics Oct. 4 - 3:35 pm et

Stephon Marbury had an eventful summer, with rambling, bizarre interviews, talk of retiring a Knick, talk of leaving the team to play in Italy, selling cheap shoes, sticking up for Michael Vick's dogfighting habit and being called out in court for having sex with an intern while married.
You can add another thing to that list, as Marbury was born again on June 29. "I'm a born-again Christian," Marbury said. "I've been reborn. I've awakened from the dead. My body and my mind were asleep. I was sleepwalking. I basically was laying in a coffin dead. Then when I became reborn, I was able to open my eyes and see myself." Marbury has become the ring leader of the circus taking place in New York. On a hoops note, he says he's in fantastic shape and ready to lead the team.
 Jerome James-C- Bulls Oct. 4 - 3:27 pm et

Once again, Knicks' backup center Jerome James is hurt, suffering from knee tendinitis.
James is the kingpin of a long list of bad decisions by Isiah Thomas, and it would make sense for the Knicks just to buy him out to open up a roster spot. Regardless of how deep your league is, James should not be owned in most of them.
 Spencer Hawes-C- Kings Oct. 4 - 3:21 pm et

Rookie Spencer Hawes will have another MRI test on his left knee, the same one he had microfracture surgery on when he was 14.
The first test was inconclusive, but swelling and pain persists so they're going to take another look. Hopefully he won't require surgery.
 Jason Maxiell-F/C- Pistons Oct. 4 - 1:19 pm et

The Pistons are expecting a big jump in production from Jason Maxiell this season and he's the leading candidate for the sixth-man role with the team.
"He's got to take a big step because he's one of the main guys in the rotation," Flip Saunders said. "We expect him to take a huge step." Antonio McDyess is the starting PF, but Maxiell is going to see a lot of minutes. "It's good knowing that Coach has confidence in me to take a step forward in being maybe a good sixth man, big man off the bench," Maxiell said, "and stepping up the energy." We're going to bump him up our cheat sheets and you should do the same. He's a great player to take in the final few rounds of your draft.
 Andrei Kirilenko-F- Jazz Oct. 4 - 1:14 pm et

The Jazz have hired former shooting star Jeff Hornacek to work with Andrei Kirilenko a couple times a week.
Kirilenko has worked with Hornacek previously and is a huge fan. "I love to work with him," he said. "He's a great guy. He was one of the best shooters in NBA. You know, working with him, I feel good." While the Jazz won't admit it, they brought Hornacek in to make Kirilenko happy, as well as play better. It sounds like it might work, as this is the happiest we've heard AK-47 sound in a long time.
