 Tony Gilbert-LB- Jaguars Sep. 6 - 1:51 am et

Jaguars released LB Tony Gilbert.
Jacksonville has opted to keep five linebackers: Starters Kirk Morrison, Justin Durant, Daryl Smith, and reserves Russell Allen and Jacob Cutrera.
 Terrail Lambert-DB- Colts Sep. 6 - 1:43 am et

Colts waived CB Terrail Lambert.
The Notre Dame alum lost out to Purdue product Brandon King. Lambert can take solace in the fact that the Irish whipped the Boilermakers on Saturday.
 Nick Polk-DB- Texans Sep. 6 - 1:23 am et

Texans waived S Nick Polk.
Houston is going with four safeties: Troy Nolan behind free safety Eugene Wilson, and Dominique Barber behind strong safety Bernard Pollard.
 Darrelle Revis-DB- Jets Sep. 6 - 12:33 am et

Jets agreed to terms with CB Darrelle Revis on a four-year, $46 million contract, including $32 million guaranteed.
He'll fly to New York, sign, and be on the field versus Baltimore next Monday night. The contract was announced as seven years, but easily voids to four. The best news for the Jets is that they didn't have to do a one-year, "band-aid" deal that might've put them back at square one next offseason. According to the NY Daily News, Revis stayed in shape during his holdout, working out with Ty Law in South Florida. Upgrade New York's fantasy defense, and shy away from Anquan Boldin in Week 1. He's got a hot date with Revis Island.

 Korey Bosworth-LB- Lions Sep. 6 - 12:26 am et

Lions released LB Korey Bosworth with an injury settlement.
The Boz's son fractured his leg in the club's preseason finale.
 C.J. Wilson-DB- Panthers Sep. 5 - 11:44 pm et

Panthers waived DB C.J. Wilson.
The transaction happened Saturday, but slipped through the cracks. Wilson has practice squad eligibility, and could return to Carolina in that way.
 Sean Locklear-T- Seahawks Sep. 5 - 11:03 pm et

ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Seahawks have placed RT Sean Locklear on the trade block.
Clayton says Locklear "isn't expected to be around by opening day," so it sounds like he'll be released if Seattle can't find a taker. Due $5.45 million in 2010, that's what's going to happen if Clayton's story is correct. He struggled in the preseason and Seattle is completely making over its roster, so the only outcome here that would surprise us would be Locklear starting Week 1.

 Malcolm Jenkins-DB- Saints Sep. 5 - 10:44 pm et

The Saints will use FS Malcolm Jenkins as a deep, true center-field safety, lining up several yards downfield.
The idea is to have Jenkins in a "bend but don't break" position, where he can "scan the field and watch plays develop." It will allow Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer to play tighter press coverage, but won't lend for much IDP value.
 Darrelle Revis-DB- Jets Sep. 5 - 10:25 pm et

The NY Daily News' Manish Mehta reports that Jets coach Rex Ryan met with Darrelle Revis in Florida over the weekend.
Mehta cautions that there's "no resolution yet," but confirms the "lines of communication (are) open." The Jets do have an extra day to get Revis back into hitting drills on the practice field, because they play Monday night against the Ravens. Ideally, they'd get him under contract by Wednesday. We're not saying it's likely, but it certainly looks more realistic now.
 Aaron Schobel-LB- Bills Sep. 5 - 10:22 pm et

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora disputes a rumor that Aaron Schobel is contemplating a return to football.
La Canfora provides no details, but the initial "report" was shaky to begin with. Until we hear otherwise, consider the 33-year-old's nine-year career over.

 Scott Shanle-LB- Saints Sep. 5 - 10:14 pm et

The New Orleans Times-Picayune confirms that Scott Shanle is expected to move back to weak-side linebacker following Jonathan Casillas' season-ending Lisfranc fracture.
Jo-Lonn Dunbar will start on the strong side. We've seen what Shanle can do at the position (68 tackles last year), and the fantasy upside isn't high as he enters his age-31 season. Consider Shanle a low-end LB3 option at best.

 T.J. Houshmandzadeh-WR- Seahawks Sep. 5 - 10:07 pm et

The Seattle Times reports that free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh is expected to sign with either the Redskins or the Raiders.
The Times cites "a source who had spoken with him." The decision is easy -- Houshmandzadeh should sign with the Skins, even if the Raiders offer more money this year (he's getting a $7 million baseline regardless). On top of a better chance to win, playing with Donovan McNabb alongside Chris Cooley and Santana Moss in a Mike Shanahan offense would give Housh his best chance to put up numbers. He could parlay that into a contract for 2011.

 Jonathan Vilma-LB- Saints Sep. 5 - 9:10 pm et

Saints MLB Jonathan Vilma (groin) participated in practice Sunday.
He looks to be on track for Thursday's NFL opener against Minnesota.
 Armanti Edwards-WR- Panthers Sep. 5 - 9:06 pm et

The Charlotte Observer suggests that rookie WR Armanti Edwards could be inactive on game days to open the season.
Edwards appears to have lost punt return duties to Captain Munnerlyn, and may not be better than a fourth or fifth receiver. Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett will start the opener. Brandon LaFell or Charly Martin will be No. 3.
 Shawne Merriman-LB- Chargers Sep. 5 - 8:59 pm et

The San Diego Union-Tribune confirms that the Chargers are "concerned" OLB Shawne Merriman (Achilles) will miss Week 1.
The team is reportedly also concerned about "when or if he will again be the force he once was." After reporting late, Merriman missed the final two preseason games with the Achilles' issue. It's become chronic for the once-feared pass rusher, from whom we're not anticipating big things in 2010.
 Josh Wilson-DB- Ravens Sep. 5 - 8:45 pm et

Newly acquired CB Josh Wilson is expected to be the Ravens' nickel back, at the very least, to open the season.
Lardarius Webb will (knee) will start when he's 100 percent, but Wilson is probably going to get the nod against the Jets on Monday night. Chris Carr is now the dime back and punt returner. Wilson will push Carr in the return game when once slides into the nickel role. The Jets' passing game hasn't looked ready for the season, so we'd still avoid their receivers in Week 1.
 Jamaal Jackson-C- Eagles Sep. 5 - 8:34 pm et

Coach Andy Reid confirmed Sunday that Jamaal Jackson (knee) will start the Eagles' opener against Green Bay.
With Stacy Andrews gone, the Birds have moved Nick Cole into the lineup at right guard. Todd Herremans will be the left guard, and Mike McGlynn will back up all three spots. This will be the first week that the group has practiced together as they gear up for B.J. Raji, Cullen Jenkins, and Ryan Pickett.
 Lonyae Miller-RB- Cowboys Sep. 5 - 8:21 pm et

Cowboys signed RB Lonyae Miller, OT Cliff Louis, TE Scott Chandler, WRs Jesse Holley and Manuel Johnson, TE Martin Rucker, OG Travis Bright, and CB Teddy Williams to their practice squad.
Miller, who lost his starting job to Ryan Mathews at Fresno State, might be the most intriguing talent here. He runs sub-4.5 at 5'11/215. Chandler, Holley, Johnson, and Bright were all on Dallas' practice squad in 2009.
 Chris Ogbonnaya-RB- Texans Sep. 5 - 8:16 pm et

Texans signed RB Chris Ogbonnaya, WR Bobby Williams, DT Malcolm Sheppard, OLs Brett Helms and Cole Pemberton, LB Isaiah Greenhouse, and S Torri Williams to their practice squad.
Ogbonnaya demonstrated his lack of NFL-caliber ability in preseason, so he may not last longer than it takes for Steve Slaton (turf toe) go get healthy.
 Pat White-QB- Dolphins Sep. 5 - 8:10 pm et

Former Dolphins second-round pick Pat White passed through waivers unclaimed on Sunday.
He could've been had for a mere $395K salary, but no team was willing to give the former 44th overall selection a shot. Left for dead after one season and two camps, White's mental state appears to be shaken. He may go back to the drawing board about his athletic career over the next few weeks.
