 Troy Williamson-WR- Jaguars Feb. 29 - 12:47 pm et

Jaguars acquired Troy Williamson from the Vikings in exchange for a sixth-round draft choice.
The deal was agreed to three days ago, but made official by the team this morning. The sixth-round pick can likely improve based on performance, and if Williamson makes the team. With the Jags also acquiring Jerry Porter, Williamson isn't guaranteed a roster spot, much less playing time.
 Cleo Lemon-QB- Ravens Feb. 29 - 12:47 pm et

Jaguars agreed to terms with QB Cleo Lemon on a three-year contract worth just under $9 million.
A nice fit for both sides. Lemon played capably in a difficult situation last year, and should be an upgrade over Quinn Gray. Lemon sometimes plays too conservatively, but that fits Jacksonville's style, as does his mobility.

 Ben Troupe-TE- Raiders Feb. 29 - 12:45 pm et

Ben Troupe is expected to visit Buffalo this weekend.
The Bills need some pass-catchers, and Troupe needs a fresh start. He has physical skills, but could never put it together in Tennesseee.

 Jonathan Vilma-LB- Saints Feb. 29 - 12:42 pm et

Saints acquired LB Jonathan Vilma in for an undiscloded 2008 draft pick and a conditional 2009 pick.
We think the 2009 pick can be a third-rounder. The Saints checked Vilma out medically and went after him, so they must feel secure about his knee. He's fourth months into his rehab. When healthy, Vilma is one of the premier middle linebackers in football. The draft pick can upgrade based on Vilma's play.

 Reggie Torbor-LB- Dolphins Feb. 29 - 12:35 pm et

Dolphins agreed to terms with LB Reggie Torbor on a four-year, $14 million contract.
The Giants already have lost Torbor and Kawika Mitchell. Gibril Wilson is probably next. Torbor, a fourth-round pick out of Auburn in 2004, will likely be Miami's frontrunner to start at inside linebacker next to Channing Crowder. Torber played outside in the Giants' 4-3, so he'll need time to adjust.

 Jason Ferguson-DL- Dolphins Feb. 29 - 12:33 pm et

Dolphins acquired NT Jason Ferguson from Dallas in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2009. The Dolphins and Cowboys will also exchange sixth-round picks this year.
Ferguson's play was up and down in Dallas under the Big Tuna, but Bill Parcells still has a fondness for him. He's likely to start at nose tackle this year, but has to prove he's healthy after tearing his biceps last season.
 Devery Henderson-WR- Saints Feb. 29 - 12:29 pm et

Devery Henderson will visit with the Bucs Friday.
We'd tread very cautiously here if we were the Bucs. They desperately need some deep speed, but Henderson will drive Jon Gruden crazy.

 Randall Gay-DB- Saints Feb. 29 - 12:24 pm et

Randall Gay will visit the Saints Friday.
Gay is one of the better corners available, but still should only be seen as a role player. Gay grew up in Louisiana, so the Saints may have an edge in signing him.

 Kawika Mitchell-LB- Bills Feb. 29 - 12:23 pm et

Bills signed LB Kawika Mitchell to a five-year, $17.5 million contract. The deal included a $3.5 million signing bonus.
Mitchell should slide right in as the strong-side linebacker, pushing Angelo Crowell over to the weak side and Keith Ellison to the bench, but it's uncertain. The speedy Mitchell should be a good fit in Buffalo as an athletic, sideline to sideline addition. The Bills' linebacker trio has a lot of potential.
 Lonie Paxton-C- Broncos Feb. 29 - 12:22 pm et

Patriots re-signed long snapper Lonie Paxton.
One the league's top long snappers and snow angel makers, the Patriots probably wanted to lock up Paxton before any of the Belichick tree called him.
 Travis LaBoy-LB- Cardinals Feb. 29 - 12:19 pm et

Travis Laboy is visiting Cleveland Friday.
The Browns already have beefed up their line with Corey Williams, but they need more pass-rushing help. Laboy struggled to stay healthy or produce in Tennessee. He may also visit the Saints.

 Patrick Cobbs-RB- Dolphins Feb. 29 - 12:18 pm et

Dolphins offered RB Patrick Cobbs an exclusive rights tender.
Cobbs will make $445,000 if he makes the team, which he'll struggle to do, as the Dolphins are looking to upgrade their backup running backs.
 Carlyle Holiday-WR- Packers Feb. 29 - 12:17 pm et

Packers released WR Carlyle Holiday.
Holiday had only nine catches in two years with Green Bay. He's mostly a special teamer.
 Von Hutchins-DB- Falcons Feb. 29 - 12:06 pm et

CB Von Hutchins (Texans), TE Ben Hartsock (Titans), and S Erik Coleman (Jets) will all visit the Falcons Friday.
Atlanta going with the mid-level approach, in addition to hosting Michael Turner. Coleman has some upside, but all of these guys don't deserve big contracts.

 Kris Jenkins-DL- Jets Feb. 29 - 11:57 am et

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Jets signed DT Kris Jenkins to a five-year, $35 million contract, with $20 million guaranteed.
Bold move for a player who has either been inconsistent or in decline for the last three years. We suspect the word "guaranteed" is being used loosely here, but two-mid-round picks and this contract is quite a gamble by New York. Jenkins, if he can stay in shape, will solve New York's big problem in the middle of their line.

 Madieu Williams-DB- Vikings Feb. 29 - 11:48 am et

The Vikings have reached a six-year, $34 million agreement with Madieu Williams, formerly of the Bengals.
He wasn't cheap, but Williams was one of the best young defensive starters available in free agency. He's similar to a younger Darren Sharper, which means the Vikings have great ball skills and not a lot of thump at safety. The duo figures to complement their stout front seven well.

 Kawika Mitchell-LB- Bills Feb. 29 - 11:46 am et

The Bills are reportedly making a major push to sign Giants LB Kawika Mitchell.
His speed would play well in Dick Jauron's scheme. Buffalo would have enviable depth at the position if they get Mitchell under contract.

 Michael Turner-RB- Falcons Feb. 29 - 11:44 am et

Michael Turner is visiting the Falcons Friday.
Atlanta, looking for a power rusher, is the most logical landing spot for Turner. We wouldn't be surprised if he signs Friday. The Lions, Bears and Saints are also said to be actively pursuing the running back.

 Jeff Faine-C- Buccaneers Feb. 29 - 11:36 am et

Jeff Faine's contract with the Bucs will be for six years and $37.5 million, with $15 million guaranteed. He can earn up to $20 million in the first three years.
Faine played solid football in New Orleans, but they had no interest paying Faine this kind of money. Center has been a problem spot for Tampa, and Faine should stabilize it.
 Brian Urlacher-LB- Bears Feb. 29 - 11:29 am et

The Bears and Brian Urlacher are discussing a restructuring of his contract.
Urlacher signed a nine-year deal in 2003, but will make just $3.95 million this season, as salary inflation has far exceeded the increments in his agreement. The timing is bad for Urlacher, though, as he suffered with a sore back for much of last season, and still won't be able to run for two more weeks after undergoing neck surgery.
